hey guys i built a box thats about 13"x13"x32". i think im going to run (4) 27 watt 2700k cfl lights.

the only problem i have is ventilation. i took the fan out of my old xbox (the original one). will this be enough to push air through the box at a reate of 1-2 cubic feet/minute? it sats its 12 V.C.D. and .21 amp

and then if this fan is okay then i just have to get the lights and the light sockets.

the fan is a little small 2 would be better, but the 12 v d c means it runs on 12 volts..... unless your gonna run it off that battery in your first pic you will need an inverter .

cool up close pic of your table saw :) how do you gain access to the inside of the box? through the top or the side? i think that fan would be good for that size of a box... if it's not quite enough though, try using 2 of them.

thanks guys, yeah thats just an old crap saw but i got the new env and it takes cool pics sometimes ;)

whats an inverter? and can you give me a link to a cheep one? yeah if i do two fan should it be one for inlet and one for exaust, or two for exaust and just have a hole for inlet?

1 fan on side of the box, upper portion. the other fan on the other side of box in the lower portion.... ? lol. hard to explain in writing, but your trying to create cross ventilation. if you go that route, inlet should be on bottom portion and outlet on top, as heat rises.

yeah, there both going to have to go on the back for that steath factor and i know that the plants take in air from the bottom of the leafs so that will be what i do. IF i can get another fan... and do you know what an inverter is?

nope, cant help you with the inverter bro. i'm a plumber, not an electrician lol. 2 fans on back side of box, that'd work. you'd have a fresh air intake on the bottom, circulatating air up and around plant, then out at the top... sounds like a plan :)

An inverter turns the voltage from your house socket from AC (alternating current) into DC (Direct current) often needed for computers and also steps it down to 12 volts instead of hitting a fan with a 100% more voltage then it needs and eventually burning it up (huge fire HAZARD) you could buy a 12 volt inverter from any hardware store but it might be easier to buy two 120 volt AC fans from a computer supply store maybe radio shack i got mine from a electronics store and it cost me around 60 $ CAN. Also u could wire it up to that car battery if your worried about hydro costs.a inverter is only $20 ,maybe ive never bought one, but if you do the amps must match as well making the proper inverter hard to find .unless you could use the one from your old x box. do u have a multimeter ?

If you want to move air out try going to Home Depot and picking up a Nutone exhaust fan like the one u see in the bathroom. get the 50 CFM (cubic feet min ) it will run you 13.00 plus another 13.00 for 3" tubing. The plus side to this fan is its plug and play no hardwire needed. Good luck
