Another lighting question

My plants are currently under CFL 18/6 (about two weeks.) I have a very sunny room in my house and the March sun is getting strong. Would it be a good idea to move the plants into the sun for a few hours now and then ? Hell, sunshine is free.

Don't see why not. If they are only 2 weeks old just be careful to not give them too much sunshine and smooth them into it.

They will prosper. I move plants into sunlight in both veg & flower stage. Indoors in front of a south facing sliding door, and on the deck if it gets into the 60's. Kind of a pain but worth it I think.

I had them in the sun for two hours. They said "thanks" but then the clouds came in.

Keep in mind, the glass in your windows filters out a lot of the useful rays from the sun (ie. uv light).

IF you move outside make sure its not 90 degrees like it is in florida. Also watch out for pests. Easiest way to get an infestation is keeping your plants outside.

It may block a small portion, but I would think not enough to make a noticeable difference...or at least my indoor sunshine grows seem to do okay, and I have tinted windows

@Camo Hat yes, do give them some sunshine, they love it and generally have no issues, if they do start to droop, then move them to a shaded area

I have been selling windows on the commercial and residential platforms for over a decade. They are designed to filter out UV light. The same light the our plants love is the same light that fades everything it touches (IE. furniture, paint, carpet, etc), that is why the windows are made the way they are. Greenhouse grass is specifically made to NOT block out those rays. Yes you can grow with it, but it will be kind of like giving your plant red light when it wants blue.
