i'm thinking of growing some big plants and i heard that for an 8x8 room it would be better to hang the bulbs vertically at canopy level without reflectors..and is the most effeicent(sp?) way to grow 3ft+ plants? any truth to that ?? i was thinking of hanging 6 1000 hps vertically in an 8x8 room and maybe even some cool white cfls, sound good?? thanks

the ones around the walls would be for extra lighting, cause hid's i guess only penetrates 3ft into a canopy. but you would still need lights above the plant cause the buds grow up.

the rooms i saw had no reflectors at all just the vertically hung bare bulbs they said it was like 40% more light available... i know vertical growers use the lamps like that and i saw the plants these guys were growing so i guess it works... i'm just wondering about the system and the yields compared to conventional methods...any ideas?
