Next up, Democrats attack the constitution and fail. You gotta love George Will:

Forty-eight members of the Democratic caucus attempted to do something never previously done: Amend the Bill of Rights. They tried to radically shrink First Amendment protection of political speech. They evidently think extremism in defense of the political class’s convenience is no vice.

I hate our government, I think we oughta line every one of them up and run them the fuck over with a steam roller.

They do not, nor will ever give a flying fuck about the people they are paid to represent.

I think it is about time to go back to Colts and handshakes. Do what you are supposed to do or get planted.

Our SCOTUS is not infallible. I'm against the citizens united ruling too and wish we had a better system for overturning obviously bogus decisions without it taking decades. Amending the bill of rights is not the correct course. It's just a way to get corporate money out, while keeping union money in. Or SOP for our politicians.

We have the technology now where campaigning can be run on one public station with each candidate receiving equal time.

I do wish our founding fathers had figured a checks and balance into SCOTUS rulings.

have some vicks vape-o-rub and a nap, grandpa. you're getting kinda cranky.

i wonder why white nationalist OP ommited the "extremism" part, which isn ot extreme in any way at all.

“Congress and the states may regulate and set reasonable limits on the raising and spending of money by candidates and others to influence elections,” and may “prohibit” corporations — including nonprofit issue-advocacy corporations (such as the Sierra Club, NARAL Pro-Choice America and thousands of others across the political spectrum) from spending any money “to influence elections,”

Money is not speech. Corporations are not individuals with first amendment rights.

We're getting that 28th amendment whether you like it or not.

Money is speech. Try to get air time without it.

Corporations are "people". That has been the law for hundreds of years.

Align yourself with those who want to rescind the first amendment. "Go ahead, muthafuka, I dare you".

LOL

96% of Americans disagree with you

When was the last time 4% of anything went up against 96% and won?

That is the great thing about the constitution, it protects minorities against the tyranny of majorities. :-)

I will tip my hats to the fascist Democratic senators, at least they are going about their fascism in a constitutional manner, by proposing to amend the constitution to put a muzzle on their political opponents.

There is zero chance of success of Democratic fascists in eliminating free speech, and everybody knows it, so this is just a craven political maneuver to pander to the dopes in society, much like their "war on wymin" silliness.

Don't be a dope!

Only a very stupid person, or a very fascist one, could look at that loose wording and describe it as anything less than extreme.

Thomas Jefferson was such a better person than you will ever be. Go guzzle a quart of whiskey and pass out on a Wendy's bathroom floor, covered in vomit and shit.

only a white nationalist, and a very stupid one at that, would describe as extreme a bill which 52% of americans are in favor of.

Your linked document does not contain any of the following words: "amendment", "constitution", "speech".

Only a dopey, shit stained fascist would attempt to link to a bogus document, which says nothing about amending the constitution to eliminate the first amendment, and think it would convince a literate person, such as myself, of anything except that you are a dopey, shit-stained fascist.

allow me to spell it out to you.

you are a white nationalist, so it is not unexpected that you are dumber than a pile of fetid goat shit.

what the poll says:

those who favored banning corporate political spending: 52%

what your article says:

congress and the states...may prohibit corporations...from spending any money to influence elections.

extremism is your desire to abolish civil rights, as only a fringe group of racists support such a notion, despite the popularity it may enjoy with the myriad of racists and white nationalists we have scumming up this forum.

given that 89% of americans believe there is too much corporate money in politics, your voice to the contrary is actually the extremist position.

Clearly.

The bullshit happening in D.C. is an act, like most things in politics. I'm interested in the reasons they come up with to justify it. It's interesting to watch the game.

It doesn't really matter anyway, like I said, 96% of Americans support financial reform, and now Article 5 of the US Constitution is being used to go above the Judicial and Legislative to enact an amendment.

So, sorry for that extremely wealthy 4% who oppose it, I know they enjoy their low taxes and government subsidies, but you can't fuck two entire classes of people and not expect anybody to fight back.

Those silly fucks are lucky we don't eat them.
