Another CFL Question

During my first grow I experienced leaves (turning brown) & dying off near the bottom of the plants, seeing as I'm using a HPS light above the tops and hardly no light gets through to the bottom leaves, I want to try putting some compact CFL's around the base. I understand the 6500k is for veg & 2700k for flowering my question is (and keeping this kinda affordable) what wattage of CFL would be best used in this situation? Any and All opinions will be appreciated but plz no bickering with eachother cuz everyone has their own opinion.

I just use 26w for supplemental..you could use whatever wattage you want really.

I was really a fan of the 42w ones.

Used them for the whole grow. I think i had 3 total.

or

prune them plants and stick with the HPS and top bud`s and grow em in a SoG/Scrog or similar



let the plants concentrate there energy and use all there grow potential on there top bud`s
