another cfl grow

welcome. i started another grow, and i hope i learned from my mistakes from my last indoor grow. a little background. i have a 2'x2'x4' box, with a bathroom exhaust fan mounted in the top, did have homemade carbon filters, but hope i don't need then were i have my box now. the last grow i had a mix of lights running from 13w to 55w t5's (swirlies, not tubes) most 2700k and a few 5000k. this time i'm replacing all the 13w with 23w, and swapping my 42w and 55w bulbs with new bulbs, that way i don't have to have all the extra lights hanging in the way. i put 3 plants in on 12/9, another on 12/10, and the last two on 12/13. i started with 3-13w 5000k, 1-13w 2700k, and 2-26w 2700k bulbs. today 12/14 i changed to 4-23w 5000k, and 2-13w 5000k, and will start adding 2700k over the next few weeks. if i don't change the final lighting will be 4-23w 5000k, 4-55w, 1-42w 4-23w 2700k totaling 446w. they are just seedlings at this point, i see no reason for pics, but another week may be different. by the way, this is a 12/12 from seed grow, i have started building another box that i will veg/flower in, but believe i will use led in, so it will not be in this section. peace

i really didn't say much about my beans. i have 1 kush bag seed, stuff was really good for bag weed. i have 2 the special, that is what it was called when i got one 1/2 oz bud, with a bunch of seeds, i grew some of this out on my last indoor grow, it was good, but i really messed that grow up. the last three are some i breed last summer. i had a very indica looking bag seed (unknown) plant the had pink pistils, so i called it the pink lady. the male was unknown too. i call them the pink for now. i do have some sour diesel, 8 bomb (8 ball kush and hubba bubba bomb cross), and some hubba bubba bomb (a almost pure sativa that was made up in the 70's by a good friends late dad) that i plan to crack as i weed out the males.

my plants seem to be lagging, the temps are running in the building 75º to 80º. i have been running my exhaust fan during lights on. i did run a small fan inside the box that was catching one cup as it blew towards the lights, but that plant had hardly grown any at all. i'm building a new overhead light setup, i'm gonna use 13 23 watt par38 floods, don't know if i'm just gonna use 2700k or mix in some 5000k here or not. i have 4 23 watt 2700k and 4 23 watt 5000k sidelights, that should give me 299 watts overhead, 184 watts side, total of 483 watts to get going.

gonna try to get pics today. i had a problem getting the heat up enough for them. i had the building running between 70º and 80º but the air moving through the box was too cool. so i started working with the door open, and got them to look a little better. yesterday 12/21 i changed the lights. i was running 4-23watt and 2-13 watt 5000k, now i have 4-55watt t-5 2700k and 2-23watt 5000k bulbs going. i have also closed the door. it got warm in the building and box yesterday, as the temps outside got to 74º, but we should start cooling down again later today.

got to add the perlite when i trans plant. organic, but can't remember the name, but i remember the bag. i didn't check the stuff before i cracked the beans. i'm also getting some better soil, they didn't have what i was getting, said this crap was as good, right.

you asked what it is, it's miracle gro organic no food, and i'll never use this crap again. ain't shit in the store now, see what they put out after christmas, couldn't even find any perlite.

Go to Lowe's, they got the moisture control, and MG perlite too, that's where I get mine.
And yes, I've been and got since they put out the x-mas stuff, they just move the perlite is all.

i'm gonna order some fox farm happy frog, but still trying to find a small bag of perlite. i have to travle to get to a lowe's, but we have a home depot and wally world as well as a k-mart, none of them had any perlite. i'm gonna try the plant stores here in town over the next couple days. the worst thing to deal with right now is temps, one day it is in the 70's, and i have to adjust, then the next day we are in the 40's and i have to adjust, ain't this fun. oh and have a merry christmas bro.

all the moisture control that i have found has food in it, i'm doing the 12/12 fs, but that is great stuff for outdoors.

That and the MG Perlite (that also says it has food in it) is even what I germ in, LOL.

yes i do use dabucket, not much to see as they are seedlings and lagging a little, but i hope i got things better for them now.

glad to see you stop by beech, hope you have been doing good. we are good around here. i'll try to online check. i'm going to look at some a local nursery has made up for them, it is peat and perlite, she said she wants 12.00 for 2 cubic foot. hell if anything i could mix it with what i have around here till i can do something different.
