Well this thread is dedicated to the man himself and all his work! When you get those tester beans started, post up any and all shots you want here

I started to germ 2 Flo Scout Cookies (~24 hours apart, just couldn't help myself, had to germ another one ). 1 has already popped its shell and was just planted this morning maybe 20 minutes ago  .

Aww shucks I got my own thread :D Cant wait to see what you do with those FSC that's one cross I was most excited about.

What kind of system are you going to use to grow that awesome sounding cross?
Soil, my "Home Depot Special" formula; 1/4 of each: Perlite, Vermiculite, Sphagnum Peat, and "Potting Soil" (Sta-Green brand this time around... it was on sale :-P ). I fill a party cup up with the mix, then add a layer (1/4 - 1/2 inch) of Vermiculite to place the seedling into. I wait until the seedling is above ground for a day or two, then add a little Jobe's Organics Fast Start 4-4-2 to keep them happy until I replant into its final container (usually a 3 gallon planter with 2 plants sharing one). The final soil is the same, but I fully amend it with different organics (Jobe's, Dr. Earth, Alaska/Pennington, and Espoma guano and fish based organics), azomite for trace minerals, and diatomaceous earth for some silica and to keep bugs away :-P .

I try and keep things as Organic as possible, but the "Potting Soil" usually has its own chemical ferts, and I am sometimes known to add a little General Hydroponics MaxiBloom to kick start flowering (a buddy gave me a 2.2lb bag of the stuff years ago when he stopped growing, and I'm not one to say no or throw something away if it can be used  )

Custom soil mix sounds like a lot of work, but it also sounds like it could work well. How are you going to light 'em?

It is a little bit of work, but when you walk out of Lowes/Home Depot with years worth of soil and fertilizer for under 60$ it makes it well worth it! Years ago I tried the expensive brands from the hydro store and had to add things to it anyways (FFOF was HOT... had to add some perlite and dolomite lime, for the 40$ I spent on a small bag everyone seems like its the perfect dirt... it wasn't for me ?? :? )

Lighting will be under my "100 x 3w" LED (~170 avg. actual watts +/- ~20w depending on temps.). Saving up for a second one for flowering

Have been looking at LEDs, waiting for a 3w Cree that is priced right, looks like maybe you found it. Looking forward to seeing how the buds turn out with that light!

I have also been interested in adding a LED for supplemental lighting. I believe the different light spectrum would only help the plants. Also since this is a thread to my gear i guess ill add a list of what strains i have

OMG, you are an inspired genius. If you were to suggest a strain or a cross for someone who wants to grow buds that require less trimming and still have a decent harvest of a good tasting flower, what would you suggest?

How did the purple wreck turn out?

Awesome. Fucking awesome.:weed:

Its hard to say since a majority of these havent been grown yet but if some are like their mothers then GSC, PJ, Blue Dream,MAD,Moonwalker, Alien Tahoe, CS were all easy to trim

Went into my grow space this 'morning' (lights on aka 'morning' was ~15 minutes ago) and I found a nice little surprise

1st Flo Scout Cookies is above ground,

FSC-03.JPG

and the second has germed and been planted  ~24 - 48 hours for tap roots like this

FSC-02.JPG

100% germ rate, and only ~3 days to get above the surface  , can't wait to see them grow :peace:

2 days later under my LED, gave it the Jobe's Organics Fast Start 4-4-2 today, 1 tsp on top of the soil, was a little rushed so I didn't bother mixing it into the top of the soil  . pH was 6.5 as usual  . I think it likes the Lighting  . LED is ~1.5 feet away from the top of the cup.

FSC-04.jpg

With these test runs I will post more pics (every few days a pic or 2). Usually just do a weekly pic, but it is a "test run" for everyone to see :peace:
