Hello everyone: I finally have two seeds that germinated and i put them in 4'' pots. I have regular hyponex potting soil for now. I put about 50% perlite in the potting soil. I have 6 23w Daylight CFL'S for now as well. My temp is at 83 right now with 50% humid. I''m watering about once a day. I waterd last night at about 11:30pm and this morning the dirt was dry. so i re-watered. When i water i put enough water in the pot until i get a lil drizzle at the bottom of the pots hole. I have one fan that i have blowing into the somewhat grow box i made. Is there anything else u all would do that i'm not. Im still a lil confused about exhausting out the air. Could i just turn the fan around to exhaust the box. I opened my window to let air in with a ceiling fan circulating that to the lil fan i have pointed in the box. Is that going to be cool for the c02 ill need. any help is appreciated i just want to do good with what i have. Thanks

Temp/humidity looks good.

I would use less perlite. About a 4:1 ratio works best for me. A 1:1 ratio is a shit load of perlite.

For seedlings, with that ratio I water about once every 3-4 days until the roots start sucking up more water... then you have to water more often.

I also wouldn't open a window unless you like to feed bugs. Vent the box by putting an intake hole near the bottom (coldest air) and vent the hot air at the top of the box upwards with a fan.

boistone, thanks for the reply bro. yea i thought to much perlite too, i hope all works out though. im gonna do what u said about exhaust as soon as i get another fan. thanks again bud.

Can someone please tell me how long it usually takes for a germinated seed to sprout from the soil. thanks for ure time

it took a few days for me but almost a week but i just took some seeds and just threw them in the dirt and im started

The best method for me is to take the seeds and drop them in a shotglass full of water. Tap water is fine. Cover the shotglass with an upside down cup and put it in a warm place, around 85 degrees F. Inside a computer tower case with the cover off works great for me.

The seeds will probably float at first. After 12 hours of soaking (t=12 hrs), stir the water with your finger and they should all drop. After 12 more hours (t=24 hrs), check to see if the seeds have split down the seams a little. Most probably won't. Check again in 12 hours (t=36 hrs). They should be good to go. If not, you can keep them soaking for a maximum of 48 hrs total. Anymore and the seeds will wet-rot and turn into stinky mush.

After this soaking, I use Jiffy peat pellets in those mini greenhouse domes. Follow the instructions and do not overwater. One seed per pellet. After they sprout, transfer the whole pellet & sprout to a Solo ''keg party'' cup. I use 4:1 soil to perlite, with Sta-Green soil from Lowe's. Use the 0.05-0.04-0.03 soil in the yellow bag. Cheap, neutral and with the right nutes, can grow some seriously bomb-ass weed from even Mexican bag seeds. :weed:

boistone, awsome info bro, thx for the input. I'm all new to this. I smoke on occasions, I just want to see if i can accomplish the task at hand.
