Okay... i'm back... i've missed you all... except for the ones i havent.... i've been growing as a person so i've been gone for a few months.. which have went up in smoke... anyhoo... growing some blueberry seeds i got from a bag and decided... oh i'll use the emergency camping blanket... the little voice inside my head said "if i'm caught in the woods unawares... thats just what i'll need... a shit ton of light reflected on me..." but i ignored it...

Fast forward a few days and my little starter box, with just 2 26 watt cfls, GETS UP TO ALMOST ONE FUCKING HUNDRED DEGREES... even with an oscillating fan... why...

because the little voice in my head is a smart ass and if caught unawares, i would want the fucking blanket to reflect "BODY MOTHER FUCKING HEAT" so hopefully i havent murdered my innocent plants believing this myth... but at least i can save others....
Emergency blankets are designed to reflect heat... not light... ALWAYS USE MYLAR.....

assuming they survive being baked, i'll start on a journal sometime this weekend. And i'll also post my story of my life changes for those who are interested.

mylar isn't the problem it's the lack of ventilation/intake, mylar and emergency blankets are the same material and reflect just as much light

Shit bro i have seen people cover walls with fucking chip bags before and have good results. I would look to circulation and ventilation + ambient temps before blaming what has worked for so many.

Good Luck

only an idiot would use foil. its for baking silly....

but emergency blankets are made to send back body heat. so it seems like it would reflect heat. with or without the body......
