hi guys, 3 1/2 wks since my seeds sprouted, on 18/6 light, 2x150w MH (5k and 3k). why has'nt the nodes start alternating yet? when can i expect this to happen?
Sorry cos i'll be on vacation for a while, so i just wanna know if i need someone who is very experienced to look after my plants (take clones) while i'm gone.
Thanks fellas!
In my experience and the experience of many others, leaving a plant with someone who is wholly or even partly inexperienced will usually lead to the death (or at least damage) of the plants in their care. You do so at your own risk.
A while back, I left some with a friend who did have some experience growing, but only in an Aerogarden, which is completely automated. All of the plants ended up with mold damage and stunted growth, in addition to the plants being kept on 24/0 while flowering. Another time, he thought using a -tiny- reading lamp CFL would be sufficient for a two foot flowering plant. The plant required at least ten times that amount of light, if not more. He's a very intelligent guy, and visits this site, so I am still baffled as to how he thought that was even remotely adequate.
He was, however, doing me a favour, so I wasn't upset in the slightest. However, a tiny bit more work and common sense could have prevented any ill effects. I still love the guy though, and would trust him over anyone else in a heartbeat. Have whomever the caretaker is get familiar with growing by reading as much as they can from this site.
If you don't mind keeping the plant in a vegetative state, even with alternating branches, you might be okay. It's easier to care for vegetative plants than flowering ones, so if he/she educates themselves, then you can try to be optimistic and hope for the best. It's really all you can do. Good luck to you!
