Well I think I have a molybdenum problem dont know if its a deficiency or a lack of molybdenum just wondering what you guys think. The plants are in hydroponics and I have just started giving them nutes but I dont know if the nutes have any molybdenum in them. They are under 2 40 watt floros 18/6 light cycle.

yea i have had that happen to me, i like to call them the retards of the family, how you get that is maybe you dropped the seed on its head, or when it was sprouting you like dig it up to see if it was growing, and streesed it out or stunted its growth, i like to experiment with those, try out heavy commercial UN-32 nutes, and they sadly die lol yea it is retarded though
 
What kind of hydro system you growing in? Have the roots popped through the rockwool yet, are they in the nutrient solution? Deformed leaves are sometimes an indication of ph problems, what is your ph?
 
I am curious how you come about thinking it's Molybdenum? Most plants need SOO little of this essential trace element it is most likely not the issue. If it was a defiency in Molybdenum than u would have some issues with nitrogen uptake and sulfur as major macro nuts. The result would be yellowing of leaves because of the responsibilities of nitrogin fixation and possiable sickness because of sulfer def.
With out being the guy who did the cloning and transplanting- Its really hard. I would give the plant some very little nutts in a hydro system-esspecialy that young, Maybe run a root care product like SM-90 (read bottle first) (I never have used it, just bought it)
If you think it's Molybdenum, u fix the problem by adjusting pH NOT by adding trace elements of it.. When you water is more acidic its usually not as readily available.Its irconic since it' acts opposite the the essential elements needed by your plants.. Remeber that this trace element is mobile and will not a locate it's self.

Have u done something a little different than normal? Are you using Rockwool as a rooting agent?

Im growing in a bubbleponics system.

The roots did show themselves b 4 I put them in the hydroponics and the moister pad is touching the roots.

I try to keep my ph around 5.5-6 but it seems like everytime I check it is always around 7 but I change it back every morning and night.

I was just reading in the plant problems forum and the only thing i found that said anything about deformed leaves was Molybdenum but it could be a number of things.

I have never grown in hydro b 4 so there is no "normal" for me cause its all a new experience for me and yes I am using rockwool
 
Hum, I was reading some stuff today and they noted the same issue with your plants. Usually they said that Zink, Iron and Manganese are interrelated when it comes to signs of def. In this case it looks like Manganese, although common indoor but more rarer than zink and iron. It looks like that-just like it, but it's hard to note because you are having such pH fluxs.
That should be settled first. Did you pre -soak your Rockwool?
A litle bit more about your system would be good.. Knowing why you are flux wil probable correct these symtoms-since everyhting can now become available. Most plant problems can be corrected with the correct pH adjustment when it comes to mircro nuts.. I think this is what it is.. Some epsom salts will really help and figuring out why your pH is flux will prob sovle the problem.

Well idk y the ph keeps going up or down I've been adding vinagar to the water and it brings it down but next time I check it its back to like 7 so idk what else to do to make the ph stay down I can get it down but it just wont stay down I do have some epsom salt and i will start adding light dosages to the water solution. what do you want to know about my ststem?
 
Well I made my own system that uses the same tech but my system improves it so much more. I am very curious why your pH is not staying down! U need to go get pH up and pH down.. These are chemicals you buy at a hydroponics store. Do you change your water weekly? Are your bubble system interlocked of onto one res OR are they independent? IF your water is balanced their is NO flux that will happen-unless your plants use more water than chemicals. I would def not dink around with vinegar and such approach like that. Most people use pH up/pH down for a reason and it's because its' simple and it works.
Now what can cause your water to flux is the frets you apply; such as, frets that are organic and are mix in a solution with synthetics. How often do u change your solution? This is good info to start asking yourself- and if you can reply with answers that's a good idea too. If you can also supply anymore info it would go along way to help your situation out.

umm I change my water/solution about every 2 weeks but I will start every week now. The bubble stones just sit at the bottom of the res. And I do have epsom salt and I have been adding a little here and there when ever I change my solution but thats another thing how often do I need to add more nutes?

When you grow in hydroponics there is no soil that has nutrients n it is just water so you have to give them something to grow. just a little at first then stronger and stronger
 
Well you want to increase the nuts around 150ppm at a time if possible. My feed program allows me to control my increments. The only way to know is buy a TDS pen, its a must have in hydroponics. Than you can know how strong your mix is. You should change every week because the nuts the plants require differ at different maturity. So your solution may seem fresh but unfortunate your plants might be lacking because the res needs to be changed and a new application of nuts must be applied. Stay consitant with the Epsom salts its because most of the elements are imoblie and you want to have a continous supplie handy (in the res) if need be. You also should be using a Cal-Mag solution along with a baseline of hydroponic feed of NPK.
Use Cal-Mag once and a while if you are not using an RO/DI system. Start using around 3rd week (one week on/one off)
Anyways-this is what I know about using cal-mag, some argue it's different if you use soil, but it's all the same if you use RO/DI water. Some NPK feeds carrie elements of cal-mag but in much little precent. Remeber for vigeous growth cal-mag is as importn as your NPK!
Remeber all root tips must have deposits of cal on the tips and Mag is a macro nut much like C, O, H that most poeple dont think about..
How are your plants doing now anyhow?
 
I would say deformed leaves = Ph problem. I would loose the epsom salts and buy a non organic fertilizer made for hydro. Get a decent ph tester and TDS meter. Use tap water and start nutes at 400 - 600 ppm and move up to 1400 ppm (plus whatever you tapwater ppm is). My tapwater is usually 165 ppm so I mix for 1550 ppm total. Use Ph up or ph down to adjust ph. Get as large of a reservoir as possible. Smaller reservoirs have more fluctuation with ph. When you mix a fresh batch of nutes, do not add anything but water to keep your level up for the 10 - 14 days. If you add nutes in the middle of a cycle and try to keep your solution at 1400 ppm, you could cause problems by throwing your ratios off. Research about adding PK 13/14 after your second to third week of flowering to your normal mix as the plant will be using a majority of these two during flowering. Good Luck, hope this helped some.
 
Hum.. All seriousness, don't do what he is saying.. Larger res yes, but other than that- take what u get from here with a grain of salt.. Keeper up with the nuts but DO NOT go over 1000PPM in hydro-even if your tap water is high in ppm.

Not over 1000 ppm in hydro???? Uhhhhh ok.
 
Nuts are more readily available in hydro with no buffer, don't push your luck. Most likely you are wasting your feed. k
