I need some expert advice. This is were I am at I am going to be doing a DWC I have some black buckets, two air stones per bucket and an air pump, my lighting will be two, four foot T5 fixtures two bulbs per fixture. I started from seed with ph'd water on the napkins, when I they popped roots I then moved them to the suretogrow cubes. I have them sitting in a bed of hydroton in a pyrex container, under the pyrex container I have a heating mat. I keep the whole container in a plastic tote. Of the seven one looks a little bad of the six three are starting to grow tiny razor leaves.

I would like to know if I am on the right track, I am waiting for the roots to come through the bottom of the cube then I am going to place them in the bucket. I keep them in the plastic tote to avoid any light, and algae. Do I need to put them under any light for now or do I just keep them in the dark till the roots come out.

Thanks for any advice guys

dude! they need light ASAP or else they will stretch become white and die. put light close to them to stop further stretch, remove the lid let them breathe and IMO remove the heat mat, just keep the enviroment in acceptable temp range

Thanks a hell of a lot zem, and Favre2Harvin

You came to my rescue, they are under lights now.

Should algae be something to worry about? I am also going to get them a fan. Any other advice you have would be awesome.

Thank you so, so much

when you transplant them into the growrock, cover the sure-to-grow cubes with the rocks an keep the top layer dry, that's enough to prevent any algae, you will need to cover the stretched stem anyway so it will serve 2 purposes

This is what I was left with after I added lights a lot of them fell over, broke and died. I started from a germinated seed on July 1st. I would like to know from the experts here how they look after a week.

I have pieces of a straw holding them up because I let them stretch way to much.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

put them each in its bucket, allow roots to grow! cover the stretched part with grorock, be gentle in the transplant, dont break them and place the fluros very close to them and do not feed them with ferts, only water. they will stop stretching and should start forming leaves. this little piece of S_T_G medium is too small to support them. the roots probably grew through the bottom and started going sideways already. they need more medium. what's the strain?

I do not know what strain they are I messed up a lot of purple urkel, and sour diesel seeds. I then moved on to bag seeds which are what these are. I want to get a nice grow before I move on to the rest of the good seeds that I have.

The roots have not came through the bottom yet I was under the impression that I was suppose to wait for the roots to come through then move them to a bucket.
