03/20/2009 - Day 53 of 12/12 under the 400w HPS : Quick Dry and a Sample Smoke!!!!

Before I get into the tutorial, I wanna share some pics of the sweet purp x bubb that i quick dried last night.

Quick Drying Tutorial:

Once you approach the last 10-20 days of flowering your anticipation to taste the sweet sticky green may overcome your patience. This is perfectly normal. We all have such an overwhelming passion for this hobby, and we sometimes like to share it with others. That is why I have decided to document my TOP SECERET quick drying method that we only teach to martians.

Here you will find the absolute best way to quick dry your bud, while maintaining a natral look, taste, smell, and potency.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

1 - ripe bud
1 - paper towel
1 - saucer or plate
1 - Microwave

Start off by making sure you have a small bud that looks ripe for the picking.

Next, Get your paper towel and fold it over, to create a "pocket" for the bud to sit in.

Next, Place the bud into the folded paper towel

Make sure the leaves are laying ^^UPWARDS^^ as in around the bud, this will protect the buds during microwaving. ***do not skip this step!!!**

Next, Get your saucer, or a "plate" as you earthlings call it, and place the bud in the middle. It is essential to place the bud on a plate, do not skip this step!!!!

Microwave for about 00:20-00:30 seconds, I shoot for 00:27 so I dont overcook my bud!!

After microwaving, the leaves should be wrapped around the bud, and very lightly cripsy, while the rest of the bud should maintain a little moisture.

Let the bud sit out for about 5 minutes and then toss it in a sandwich baggie, tie it in a knot to immediately start the curing process.

AFTER

wont the bud grow mould in that bag curing??
nope. this is purely for a quick smoke, no long-term storage.

the bud comes out of the microwave kinda crispy already, once the air hits it, it dries up even more, the baggie is to redistribute moisture which doesnt take long at all.

it should be ready for consumption within an hour

similar one is in the FAQ, good pics tho;)

the part about folding the leaves up is pointless...... microwaves heats from the inside out,by exciting water molecules ... they do not "cook"

hey spittin,

try something else, i've found this is the best way although a little harsh, it tastes better than all other methods i have tried and it gets me reasonably stoned too (for quick dried).

get a bud and cut it up into small ish pieces,

put them inside a small metal container and put that on top of your hid lamp over night,
when you wake in the morning it is completely dry.

that'd work too I suppose...

..but then it wouldnt really be a quick dry..
..plus Im also trying to preserve bag-appeal.. if that makes any sense;-)

it is quick dry, sure it takes about 6-7 hours but it works much better than doing it in 30 seconds

for a quick personal smoke, its the best option, its a little bit slower than all the others which help it retain some of its potency above other methods, if you put a bud in a night until the rest is dried then you won't be without smoke

I never mentioned anything about "how stuff cooks"

I said "to protect the buds during microwaving."

were not "cooking" anything here, were just zapping the bud to get a lil bit of water out of the leaves, if the buds (calaxyes) are too crispy you'll lose some smell and taste..

i mention cooking because leaving those leaves on to protect would make more sense if it was a radiant heat ... like cooking in a oven.

the leaves will do nothing to help in a micro, getting too crispy is just a matter of not microwaving too long.:leaf:

which is why I only recommend microwaving for 27 seconds.

I think ur missing the point, the bud sweats in the microwave, the purpose of the paper towel is to catch the moisture, and the leaves are folded up like that to protect the bud (calaxyes) from sweating too much..or over-drying.

immediately after u take the bud out of the microwave, air will start to dry it out even more

so its a good idea to have the leaves wrapped around the bud so they dont over-dry, not only from the microwave, but also from the air.

Because it's fun to smoke one bud off your harvest right after you've been chopping/manicuring your plants for hours on end? It's just drying them out quickly, nothing more, nothing less. Who cares if people want to do it.

your not "nuking" your babies.
its only 'one or two buds' for a sample smoke.

the buds dont even weigh .5 grams each..thats nothing when im planning on harvesting over a quater pound.

I want to vouch for this method myself. I just tried this with a little popcorn bud on my plant. I followed your exact directions. Worked like a charm!!! I just started to flush my girl 8 days ago. She is about a week out and I just wanted to test to see where I was at.

Two bowls of delightfully goodness later, its a big +rep to you, man.....thanks!
