All UFO LEds the same?

Found this UFO LED on ebay, for considerably cheaper than the usual $150 range. I was told somewhere that all the UFO LEDs are made in the same place in China, some just have brands and others don't. Can anyone see anything on this setting it apart from the $150 models?

A lot of people will tell you UFO's aren't worth the money. But to be honest, I don't know much about them.

All UFO's are definitely NOT made in the same place or by the same people. There is one company that supplies the housings and most manufactures use those housings. I use them as well for my units.

Just because it's from China doesn't mean it's a piece of shit, it's just that the china LED's are far less powerful than the ones made here in the USA. This is why for all my LED systems we us American LED's and components in the Chinese housings.

No, definitely not!

Stay clear of any vendor or 90W UFO that claims to replace a 300W HID. Any reputable vendor knows it's not true .

There are some good options for UFOs that work well and won't completely break the bank. I like Gotham Hydro (ebay), and hydroponicshut.com. Both offer good lights at a fair price. Be sure to see if there are any LED vendors that sponsor RollitUp.

Things to look for are:

CREE LEDs - Best on the market, Bridgelux is a second best.
Narrow angle lens, a 60º - 90º provides a focused area of light that allows for good penetration below the canopy. The trade off is that they have a smaller foot print than a UFO with a 120º lens. Though I do have a UFO that has 120º CREEs, it's decent for supplemental light for flowering.
Lumens should fall in the 4800 - 6800 range (if listed at all)
Make sure the vendor offers a warranty, and that it is handled in the US.

Expect to use 1 UFO per Plant, 3 UFOs per 2 plants is better though.

You are right on par brotha...gotta love the Desert Hydro units tho...I have some of the HTG UFO's and they are noticeably dimmer than the DH units that use 100% CREE's
