All DIY Carbon Filter Idea's (Condensed) (sticky?)

So, perhaps we can make a sticky of this. After cruising the DIY section, I have compiled a list of DIY carbon filters that have been shared and thought up by a multitude of people.

Firstly...
I was once told by a hydro shop owner that 99% of DIY carbon scrubbers are worthless. It's VERY difficult for humans to pack the carbon tight enough to clean the air properly without the right equipment. (he may have just been trying to sell merch)

That being said, i've also read a number of DIY carbon threads, where people say it's worked great for them. It's honestly tough to know for sure, as i've little experience with the things. Just passing along what i've observed, and now, what i've collected.

If/when I construct my scrubber (I simply can not afford to buy one), I will probably make one of these.
Here are some carbon filter DIY designs for you to consider, most of these are small and inexpensive;

These might be more effective if you can afford the space, as well as the materials;

This one seems as though it would be more functional as compared so a few of the other designs;

And lastly, the carbon pillow design;
It was always what I had planned on, but I have no experience with it as of yet. They seem the most inexpensive, and easiest to produce & use (as you simply make the pillow and insert it into your ducting);

I seriously encourage anyone looking to make a DIY carbon filter, to check out each and every link. And seriously, explore your options. There are a TON of designs out there, and they're all very creative.
Some are inevitably more effective then others. Let us know (via this thread) what you decide to go with, and how effective each might be for you. :D
Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps anyone looking to construct a filter.
Remember, if you can smell it, so can others.
If you're curious about the ventilation aspects of it, I refer you to this thread, which has more information on it then any other ventilation thread i've seen.

I do get tired of hearing this question.

Call me crazy but frankly I don't think odor control is something many should even consider going low budget on.

You're right, if it's something they can afford, it is something they should invest in.
But for a lot of people, they don't need anything major. Odor control for a single plant can more then likely be handled with something simple. And some of these designs are just as good as the professional ones, with the exception that I pointed out in my OP, in that packing the carbon tight enough is something that is difficult for a DIY project.
I still think having this one thread, to refer others to the threads regarding this topic, is preferable.

Sad part is even if stickied most will still ask the question, never reading the sticky. For many it's too much work to do a little research.

More then likely. But there are still a few good people out there, who have the humility to READ to solve their issue, before immediately coming onto a forum, and essentially demanding that we identify the issue (s)he's having.... as if they can't be fucked to learn how to grow, and we should all just tell them exactly what to do and how to do it.
I love helping people, but it starts to feel as if many aren't even trying to learn anything.
This idea I will accept "If you don't have time to learn how, then you don't have time to grow."
