AK 48 40th Day Flower, Should I Start Flush? How soon to chop? First Successful Grow.

Hello! Pictured are my 2 AK 48 girls, grown in soil under 600w HPS, LST, using Cutting Edge Solutions 3 part nutes, CalMag Plus, and PH'ed reverse osmosis water. I switched to flower around the beginning of March. They smell incredible, exactly like fruity pebbles! And very very sticky! AK 48 is a fast finisher, but it seems to be really quick! This is my 3rd attempt at growing, but first time making it to flower. First 2 times I had to stop due to living in an apt and having landlord issues. That is no longer an problem, but anyways.. I have a few questions. I know you are supposed to flush the last 1-2 weeks of flower. Is that about now? Should I start to flush? Also, I know you need to harvest when most the white hairs turn orange, and when the trichomes are milky/amber (I like the more cerebral high so I am looking for more milky) but about how long should that be judging by the pics? Some of the hairs are orange, but not many. And lastly, do you think the buds will still keep thickening up a bit? If you want to shoot for an estimated dry weight, that would be cool too

Yea I figured it would be a few more weeks, just not sure on when to start flushing. About a week probably? I just thought it would be a good idea to get some others opinions.

damn bro beautiful they are looking good i think u should wait about 2 weeks then flush wait a week and they should be just about done

I'm growing them on my next run for the first time.....they look perfect! You just gotta wait a few more weeks.

How much did they stretch when you flipped the lights? My fucking Bubba Kush shot up like a rocket, not happy with that.

Thanks guys! Its nice to hear some feedback. Was gonna do a journal but was apprehensive posting it all online, but I said screw it haha. I don't have much experience with other strains, but I do suggest AK 48 due to its ease, speed, and quality. This could just be for my situation, but they seem to LOVE Calmag plus. I didnt start giving it to them till recently, cause the 3 part nutes were doing the job, but once I did I could see a big difference. I've been giving them a full dose since and every watering they look better.

Thanks dude! I was thinking maybe start flushing at 4/20 haha? Seems about right. I'd love to see the buds really pack on some weight these last few weeks.

But yea they didn't stretch TOO bad, but they def almost tripled in size. The height is manageable though compared to what I've seen with other strains. They stopped growing height at about 2 feet, but I did LST as well.

absolutely beautiful plants, man - bang up job - truly
you've got probably 9-9 1/2 week plants there, IMO
the buds will "eat" the hairs
those two little hair pods at the base of your branches? - those will swell up good and round
your buds will take on a chunky flower look all over them(swollen calyxes)
the whiteness of your trichs will be visible to the naked eye (at a distance it'll glow rather than glisten)
she'll give her sweet scent almost constantly rather than her musk
lots of things go into knowing when to harvest

I just hung up a plant that I flushed and then fed just plain water and molasses, for the last few feedings....man does it smell sweet!!

It really did seem to make the trichs pop and it has a nice sweet smell to it. The last plant, of the same strain, didn't seem to have as sweet a fragrance....that plant was flushed only, with just RO water feedings after. I'm still trying to figure out if flushing is the best option, or if it's just better to stop feeding it nutes in the last weeks...there is so much debate on the topic. All I know is those are some sweet looking plants!! Props to you! You should consider the molasses feedings after your flush, maybe just on one plant, to see if it makes a difference....I really think it does but it'd be nice to know what others think too.

Also, it's hard to make a final determination until the bud is dry and cured...so I will have to get back to you on that one.

But I'm pretty sure it'll be as sweet as it smells!

i grew out female seeds pure ak which i think is the same as ak-48 i did 2 grows of it & started flushing at day#55 of 12/12 & chopped at day # 62 worked pretty good for me

p.s. the blu/purp plants in the background are killing fields not to confuse you or make you think there is a purp pheno of ak
