aircool lights, ventilation

Could you tell me if this would work? I have two 1000wHPS lights. Can I have two seperate ducts go from each light, in a "Y" shaped ductholder, connected to ONE intake fan, connected to a carbonfiler and release the air back into the same room? The AC of the house will be cooling the room itself, so will the fan be able to pull enough air through the room past the lights and into the carbon filter? Thanks, the room is about 18' x 12' and there IS a dehumidifer.

Hey that is a question I need answered myself, how many cfm's do I need? I haven't heard of any of the calculations that I need to figure that out. I was thinking a 8" fan hooked up to the carbonfilter

the main thing that needs tobe known is how big is the carbon filter at the mouth 10inch or better i hope for that size of room u should use 2 fans one 200cfm for the 2 lights and match one for the filter there might not be one big enough for all 3 or it will be way too big for your area like made for a warehouse

It says that a 6" carbonfilter will be for 12' x12'x 8' room and the 8" fan will be for an 18' x12' room...which should I get for a 20' x 14' x 8' size room? The bigger of the two? That would depend on which vortex fan to get.

i have 2 vortex fans 2 600hps and havent started my filter yet i use a 146cfm for both lights and it runs very cool my lamps are air cooled with a glass bottom its a 4inch in and out i would think a 6 inch vortec would do for the lights and another one for the filter

K so 1 6" vortex connected to a carbonfilter...could u recommend on that would fit that size? and 1 6" vortex fan with duct hooked up to the lights and then ran into a Y shapped casting hooked up to the fan. Thanks

yes that sounds good u can also just run the duct between the lights with out the y and they make any size adaptor for the fans ie:3to4 inch 4to6 4to5 5to6 etc etc

Hmmmmm... I'm just wondering if you couldn't run your A/C duct right thru the light tubes and back into the main house cooling. Might be getting chilly soon tho and you'd be running heat.

Ya I was thinking that too potpimp, but then how would I cool down that room? Do you think the exaust from the lights would be an okay temp to also keep the room at a desent degree?

if u live where it gets real cold it will help with your heat u wont have to cool the room till summer in the northern hemisphere

I'm not sure what temp the room would be at. You definately need the room changing air, for humidity sake as well as CO2 and temp. Without anything on, what is the ambient temperature in the room on a normal day?

Not sure now cuz it is cooling down, but I'm in southeast U.S so it won't get too cold...plus I will have a dehumidifier so that might not be a prob.

As long as you keep it to where you are comfortable then the plants will be fine too. It won't hurt them to get a little chilly (down into the 40's) during the last couple of weeks of flowering; that will cause them to stress and produce more resin. I'm going to do that myself.
