Air pump questions....too powerful?

Hell no it doesnt need any maintenance you just leave it on running 24/7 ..I bought mine from my local grow store because if it breaks you just take it back with the receipt and exchange. Dude just trust me get that big ass one your plants will love you for it remember YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY BUBBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i will be getting it dont worry. but i cant buy local, as nowhere sells anything decent around where i am, so il have to order off the web, probably in a few weeks, this is the last piece of the equipment ive to get. I do have 3 other air pumps, but there are much lower flow rate. So the grow will only be as bad as my weakest link and the pumps were the weakest link of the chain :) With this pump il be fine, plenty of bubbles, no root rot. thanks for the suggestions etc from everyone.

You reckon theyd be ok with the powerful pump though? I might try add some airstones aswell with the 110 lpm pump as it comes with a 12 outlet splitter so I can try 2x airstones/curtains per container..

No, not if you plan to use 12 curtains and stones. Even a 110 lpm wouldn't run all that, the way you want.

Long story short...ditch the curtains, just use stones. I would use 12, 12" air stones(the long rectangular ones)

What about running just 6x 36" air curtains? Ive already bought them and not sure if I can afford anymore airstones.

Are they really that bad for airflow? I was advised to get them from a grow forum as they were supposed to be better than airstones. Im confused :)

6 might work, but I'm pretty sure you'll be disappointed with there bubble production. It's not that the curtains have bad flow, they just need alot of air...trust me...try running one curtain first and observe the bubbles, then try two and you'll notice the difference, you'll see what I mean.

The small round or cylindrical stones are dirt cheap...you could use a tee and run two stones off every port on the splitter for a total of 24 stones

Maybe see if you could return or exchange the curtains you have for stones?

I would have thought that a 120 ltr/hr pump could easily handle 6x devices and be pushing a lot of air through them??

i suppose il just get the better pump and try the 36" air curtains. If there isnt enough air production il just go for the expensive ceramic micro pore bubblers, they are supposed to be the best air bubble production for dwc and dont ever get clogged. i cant return the air curtains as it is past 14days since i got them from greens

thanks for the advice guys, rep given. got the big 120w pump. its well worth it. il try it with the air curtains in a few days and see how it goes then decide wether to get airstones or not ;) totally broke now lol

I dont live in the US so i cant pick them up for a few dollars, they arent that cheap here and I need a fair few of them. I'd have to order them in from online.

I tried a few of the flexible air stones like the one above, and they just break apart where they glue them together. I'll be sticking with the fat round airstones -- they are much less prone to breakage than the 12/6" skinny ones. Hope this helps!
