I bought some of those last year I don't think they prune as well as the original/other copy air pots, they particular ones have slightly flattened knuckles/holes which is great for stopping coco falling out but it also deflect/encourage roots back in, the aperture size probably doesn't help either.

There's not as much air pruning going.

They're worth the £2 I paid but had I known about the knuckle/hole set up I'd have bought some different copies.

These Oxy Pots are EXACTLY the same as Air Pots but MUCH cheaper!

I've been using Airpots for YEARS with AMAZING results!

They have a 10% veterans discount and got it setup overnight for me. Great guys as far as response time so far. I'm going to order a 5 pack. For 36 bucks, as long as they last a couple grows they'll be better than the paint buckets I was going to use. Thanks for the heads up.

I wonder if you can drill out the holes and make them bigger? About 2x their current size?

Imo absolutely you could, a sharp drill would remove the flattened/rounded ends and open the aperture making them perfect.

The way they stack you could drill the lot in one go.

I'd leave the top 2 rows as is and maybe if I had the time I'd increase the hole size lower down the pot like the original air pots.

I discovered Air Pots when looking for something to start some bare root fruit trees in. I planted 5 in the ground and 3 in Air Pots.

I kept the 3 in the Air Pots for about 1-year. 5 years later and the Air-Pot fruit trees are 2-3x bigger than the ones that went right into the ground!

That surprises me I'd have expected in the ground to be better than a pot, is that just with air pruning or some other factors?

I ended up getting them from Amazon as the shipping was pretty high, more than 50% of the item cost. Still a great price for the pots and I really liked the customer service from the company but the Amazon ones were 6 for 41.99 and free shipping so with my budget I couldn't pass. Thanks for the tip still, I'm always hunting for deals.
