Im struggling with my cloning and haven't yet got any roots from any of my cuttings.

Im turning to air layering now and wondered if it can be done in flower? I could then reveg said cutting once rooted.

Plant is just over a week into flower.

Fuck it im gonna do it anyway, gonna put a riot cube and a Rockwool cube next to eachother and see if there's a difference in rooting time. Probably on top of eachother.

The deal here is you gotta revert that plant back to veg growth to get roots on her

best to take the cuts ...then drop the mom to bud

don't get me wrong it can be done

just some strains can be a bitch!

air layering is the best laziest way yet...I use it lots ...lol

and the best retuens are done in veg about 2-3 weeks from germ

the method you clone is vital

I aim for 12" clones to be up and running in 10 days

hence no need to nutes or bug killers in the DIY cloner

IMO: right now I'd take ur cutting

and drop to a glass of water, and keep under light 24/7

until new leaf growth shows, about 4 days?

good luck

Tried all that mate, got a thread called "cloning issues" I just can't find any method to work. My mothers already in flower now so I want to air layer to get roots chop it then put the clone onto a veg cycle. I don't know if flowering plants will root though, im assuming it will.

Wrap the riot cubes in aluminum foil. To keep it moist and be able to open it to check progress. Lightly scrape the the future root area. dust with cloning powder or gel.

I wondered whether to use foil or whether to use a bin bag? Have you used your method before?

Yep I prefer foil

easy to inject water too

just don't poke stoned

every time I check

I loose the odd vital root

10 days is good

Good because ive lost all but two of my clones and it's been a month, got fed up and ripped a Rockwool cube open and saw the tiniest roots forming, probably have killed it now. I shoved it back in with some clonex. Fingers crossed.

I'm not exactly an expert, but aren't a lot of people reverting back to veg from flower to get the plant to monster crop? Sorry if this is already an answer my I'm tired to look

air laying is cool but I seen roots react differently when translating .With other varities of plants . Doing cannabis sounds like a fun experiment . your mother plant is it indoor or outdoor . I'm no expert either im just learning but mistakes will teach you not to do it again. An eventually you get better at growing clones .

everyone does it different . you can do either or . I would just take my chances and start vegging then flower after certain short height because clones are lanky compared versus its mothers

All indoors, I'll update probably next week if I get roots. One of the 3 plants I tried it on ended Up snapping so I got 4 cuttings in root riot cubes so this is my last attempt at cloning before I get a aerocloner machine.

Hope the air layer works. Been wanting to try it for ages

oh okay that sucks your branches snapped . I would go less weight on the branches like a peat pellet or one of your root cubes an slice into it,from the side cut it inside half way wrapping the root cube or peat pellet then wrap with clear plastic? just a idea

Yeah that's pretty much what I did but I wrapped with foil - used root riot cubes. They don't stay on too easy though

And it was too much weight?use clear plastic then use a layer of black plastic.then wrap it with a string then loop it around itself . I used to use paper clips to support branches I topped
