Air-cooled.. Glass or no glass?

I have a 600w hps bulb in an xtrasun.. it would get to 89 with the door closed so i air-cooled the light just now.. Should I put the glass back on?

my opinion is based off of what people have told me on here so it could be a little exagerrated but here is my .02......

if you enclose your light airway and vent it you wont have to vent your grow space(this sounded wrong but it is what i was told) unless your humidity got to high and you could run a very simple c02 system which could increase your yield dramatically

yes, you put the glass back on to maximize the airflow past the light and to create some insulation between the lamp and your plants.

Its a good idea to have the glass back on for several reasons. 1) you will have a more confined space if you choose to air cool the light fixture with ducting and an incline van; so cooling it would be easier 2) The glass serves as a barrier to give cushion for the distance between the lamp and the canopy of your plants so heat damage will be minimal to non existent.
