No tree bark or barky wood.
Sorry I don't know much about composte.. I guess some people sell it with wood in it? So stay away from wood composte... but that doesn't answer my question... pewp or plant?

Stick with 100% plant matter, then amend as needed for a potting mix.
Compost is also a great top dressing but takes a while to kick in.

Animal based manure is going to be high in salt but that's not to say you shouldn't use it esp outdoors. Wood products need higher N amounts to break down but they work great as well.

Compost leaves and grass clippings. Be careful with kitchen scraps you can make a slimy mess , I mean just keep it mixed well and it is probably ok. Also egg shells and coffee grounds are good.
Ok cool, there's a local dirt/ composte maker that can do pretty much whatever I want and it's quality so I'll get some plant composte..
I'm going to be starting my first grow after my wedding in July (promised I would wait) and I'm going to do autos in soil and I want to try to just make a "pseudo" super soil for a water only grow.. going to use
-Foxfarm ocean forest
-Premium Earthworm castings
-Haven't decided on foxfarm american pride or foxfarm marine cuisine (any suggestions appreciated) time release fertilizer
-composte
-extra perlite
Because of the short lives of autoflowers I figure this might be good.. and I saw someone on youtube do it lol
