AG Micro Medi Grow 001

This is my 1st AG grow. I don't have any experience with hydro but I've been lurking around studying Roseman,SICC,
Purpdaddy and Lurkmaster.
I'm really impressed at the quality and quanity that you can get out of this little setup.
Is it possible to get 2 or 3 oz's with the setup I have?

Here's what I'm working with:

  • 7 Pod AG
  • 10" Airstone/pump
  • AG lights
  • 2 6500k daylight cfl's
  • 3 clones Green Grack, Coletrain & Strawberry Cough
  • Fox Farm Grow Big 1/2 strength
  • GH PH Kit
  • Timer
  • Mylar

I just planted my clones 3 days ago and the roots are already in the water and pretty long for this short span of time.
I've grown in soil a few times and I have had pretty good results. I'm really interested in aeroponics and now bubbleponics thanks to Roseman's excellent DIY Bubbleponics setup. I can see now that I'll be building the DIY bubbleponics for my next grow and I'll use the AG for clones.

Here's some pics of my babies,
If anyone has any advice to help out a 1st timer
it will be much appreciated.

A few more questions...
How long should you keep a clone in veg? or should I switch to 12/12 when my clones are 12 inches tall?
Should i use Fox Farm's Tiger Bloom or should i use bloom nutes from another company.

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like you got it figured out... and yes it is possible to get 2 or 3 ounces or more with an AG.

Make sure you're careful with your nutrients while you have different strains growing in the same res. Each plant will require different amounts and will mature at a different rate. It's a better idea to have only one strain in the res at a time.

I've never used the FoxFarm nutrients, but from what I've heard, they sound pretty good. It's usually not a good idea mixing different brands of nutes together, anyway.

Well, good luck. I'll be watching.

Thanks for the feedback Fox!
I'll be sure to stick with All fox Farm nutes.
I'll also only grow one strain at a time in the future. My Strawberry Cough and Cole Train plants are doing really good for the most part... the Green Crack plant is a lot smaller but it's seems pretty healthy.

Update...
I planted these 3 lovely ladies last Thursday. I'm really enjoying the world of hydro.
I have a few questions. I had a stoner moment yesterday and closed on of my babies fan leaves in the res tank lid... should I cut the leaf?

I'm keeping my light cycle at 16/8 until these girls get a little taller and sexy then I'll switch to 12/12

Don't cut it off. If a leaf has sustained 50% or more damage, then cut it off. At that point, the plant is already going to suck the life out of it and drop it.

I don't know how much it will help, but setting your light schedule to 18/6 will probably give you a little more growth out of it. Just thinking more work will be done with more light.

I'm at day 10 and the ladies are looking good. The new fan leaves are really big in comparison to the other ones. Here's a few pictures:

Not too much to report... I've been keeping the ph around 5.5 5.8 and I top off the res with ph'ed water and nutes when the lights go off.

I'll post more pics in the next few days.

Plants are looking real good, homie.

I read that higher humidity increases the size of the leaf, which also causes a lower concentration of trichomes. I don't know for sure if this is true, just what I read. I would do some more research on it and make sure your humidity is 60% or below to help keep mold and other things under control.

Keep up the good work, you will be rewarded soon enough.

Here's a quick update on my ladies.
Not too much to report other than a lot of new growth. My nute burn problem is under control and I added another fan to cool the room down a bit because it's been really hot in CA. the past few weeks. Everything seems to be in tip top shape. I'm keeping my ph at 5.5-5.7 and I did my first res change a few days ago and aired out the roots for 10mins
the ladies responded to the fresh ph'ed water and nutes very well.

Looks real good Bro.. nice and healthy...

You say the roots are in the water.. have you switched the AG pump off?

Also.. unless you are planning on adding MEGA lighting, I would flower them now...

2oz with the stock lighting is a bit of a dream in my opinion...

But they look real good.. I'll be watching...

I have extra lighting 2 6500k and 2 2700k cfl's. My girls are too tall to flower in the AG so I built a bubbleponics system for my ladies to flower in.

I'm using the AG for clones now.

I'll post pics tomorrow.

Here's a little update on my grow... Day 27
My Strawberry Cough and Coletrain clones out grew the AG. My ph is staying between 5.5-5.8 with 1/4th Fox Farm Grow Big. I change the res once a week.
the light cycle is 16/8.
Once my clones out grew the 7 pod AG I built a stealth hydro style bubbleponics system. My clones adapted to their new home with minor problems.
I plan on flowering them when they reach 1ft. my grow cabinet is limited to 3.5ft. vertical growth. I'm going to switch to 12/12 in the next day or so and start using 1/2 strength Fox Farm Tiger Bloom.

Here's a few pics:
