Afterthought Autos Blitzoid grow 3x3 400 hps

Hi to everyone on rollitup,

This is my first grow journal so all pointers are appreciated. I've successfully grown out two strains so far, critical kush and pineapple chunk both by Barney's. I've read a lot of hate about Barney's but the plants were excellent. Averaged .75 gpw in a 3.5x3.0 using 400 watt hps and the bud was fruity and potent.

Anyways, I got some Afterthought Auto Blitzoid seeds from the seedbay. They were only $30 for a 10 pack so I figured I just chuck em in the woods and see what happens. Well plans change and I ended up popping these seeds for my indoor room. I couldn't find any journals or pics of Blitzoid which is why I'm starting this one. BTW this is my first autoflower

Here's my setup

Old sun-system 400 watt hps with new off brand bulb
3.5x3.0 closet lined with poly film
Can filter combo

9 non-feminized blitzoid autos
3 gallon hydrofarm square pots
General organics line up
Roots organic soil
Roots organic microbe formula thing

10 seeds were popped on Tuesday using coffee filters, plastic bad and a heat pad, 9 had germinated by this morning and went directly into the 3 gallon pots. I'll try to get some pics up later tonight.

Peace and love,

Mr.Bubble

I about 2 weeks into Afterthought Auto called Shimmer. Not much to say as of now. just as a side grow. And like you my first.

If you are looking for info on Blitzoid then look for someone that uses the handle "Aridbud". I think he is one of the breeders.

Thanks for stopping by Rorsn. Tell me what you think about Shimmer when she shows her true colors. I have read a bunch of Aridbud's posts. Seems like a nice and knowledgeable guy, but I only found his breeder description and a couple dark pics. I guess we'll find out!

Mr Bubble:
Autos are different from a size wise but watch them close for sex. Found 2 males with sacks and they looked quite ready. Still have 2 more Shimmer plants in my indoor garden. I will up-pot and place on my deck (coming of summer here) for finish. My indoor garden is going to 12/12 shortly with Silver Mountain.

Rorsn, I'll keep that in mind. I'm thinking these will show sex in 20-30 days.

Update: 6 days from germination

So all 9 seedlings have broken surface and are well on their way. I had them under a 100 watt PLL fixture for the first few days, but they started stretching so I hooked up the 400 watt HPS today

Update: day 34

Still alive down here. Sorry I haven't been current with the updates. Life got in the way, blah blah. I do have some old pics of the plants that can show some of the progress. I started out with 9 but now I'm down to 4 girls after the sexing that happened about 2 weeks ago. I was surprised how fast the males showed them selves. Out of the 4 females, one of them hermied a little in when I changed the light cycle from 24h to 20/4. I cut the sacks off and it's been stable since then. They just about stopped stretching two days ago and I gave them their first taste of bloom nutes (half strength) yesterday. The shortest is 20 inches and the tallest is 24 inches, but I did a tiny bit of lst on the tall one. Without the lst training, it would probably be around 26-28 inches. I don't know what the yield is going to be, but I suspect at least an oz a plant. They're completely taking advantage of all the light from the 400 watt and the tallest plant is only 3-4 inchest away from the glass.

^oops I dropped my oscillating fan and damaged two big branches last week. Taped them up and they're doing well now. Definitely stunted a tid bit, but it was worth saving the branches imo

Oh and I forgot to mention that these plants are extremely nutrient sensitive. Using the roots organic soil with no ferts, I was on the cusp of N overdose through out early veg, with dark green leaves and slight cupping. I skipped using veg nutes and half strength bloom nutes is giving a little yellowing on the new growth leaf tips.

I have got a few of these Afterthought autos going on the side also. There was a mishap with what was what when they were put into pots :wall: .. My females actually showed quicker than the males. Well atleast as far as i could tell. Males may have been first but i might not have seen. They just showed sex a few days ago but ive had one going a bit and she is well into flower. She is quite short which is perfect for hiding just about anywhere. She is packing on some weight for being short. Im almost positive she is Shimmer.

Harvest Time!

Sorry I've left this journal alone. I couldn't get the pics right in late flower bc of the magnetic black bars and I was too lazy to make it right. I have harvest pics tho. Anyway, the harvest was successful. I took them to day 78 and then gave them 48 hours of darkness. The yield on these mofos are going to be crazy! 2-3 ounces per plant i suspect. Massive colas on tiny little stems. Stake like crazy with blitzoid bc the buds will definitely flop over due to its weight. They wanted more nitrogen then i gave them when the bud production really started. I was using 2-4-4 during that period and it was not enough. Other than that, these plants took a beating and got huge.

Two phenos had rounder tops, super frosty and had identical strong lavender/camomile smells.

One pheno was pretty damn frosty, airy, had tons of fox tails and went the most purple. Slight lavender smell and some fruity smells but not as strong as the pure lavender phenos

the last pheno was rounded tops, no smell what so ever and only moderate frost. I felt this one could have gone another week.

I'll post a smoke report in a week after these get to 62% humidity
