Afghani + Topping = ?

I have a batch of happy 3-5in Afghani clones with lots of root room to go and am curious as to whether anyone knows this strain's response to topping, fimming?

I have heard that topping can negatively affect yield-depending on the strain-so I want to make sure it's a good process for this one. Especially with its unique genetics and all that.

Any knowledgeable advice would be greatly appreciated.

you shouldn't need to top it till its 18 inches and it should have shoots unless its not growing shoots than top it at a foot tall
its a bushy mofo and it should be a quick finisher

So Afgani responds well to topping at a foot?
I'm running these ladies in veg for 2 months so am looking to find ways to set the plants up for increased yield when they're transplanted and have a larger light footprint to take advantage of. Part of the problem is now they're all under a single T5 and will move to being under 6 600's for the flowering.

Here are some pictures in a time progression, they've been going for about a month. They'd be bigger if I didn't fry them in the beginning.
