Aeroponic cloning problems

I'm using stinkbuds cloning units. I've never had problems before. I had 100 percent clone rates. Now, it seems every time I clone, plants start dying. I thought it was the heat. With temps never going past 82 degrees, they still die. They get all slimey and the stems get really soft and the plant dies. Anybody else have problems with this?​
 
no.

personally, i think water temp is a non-issue if you run a clean set up.

if you're getting slime & the stems are getting soft, you got a case of "the rot".

clean your shit bro.

use a little h202 (hydrogen peroxide) in your cloner solution.

my friend uses an aerocloner... i rock a dwc cloner (bubble cloner)... we exchange info all the time.

i've got a 100% success rate ... and i am working in a hot as hell detached garage.

my boy has a 100% success rate ... he works out of his basement.

what we have in common : uber clean set ups.
 
there are several types of h202 : 3% , 8% , & 35% (i may be wrong on the numbers but you get the point).

the stuff you buy in the drug store is 3%.
you can order the more potent shit online or buy it at your local hydro store.

the more potent shit will burn your skin so be smart when using it... but you'll need way less of it.

i use the regular 3% shit you buy at walmart.

i run one cap full per gallon of rez water to slove any rot or disease issues.

you can run less in the rez, with your regular nute solution, just to keep the roots nice & white too.

so u know, h202 will kill beneficial bacteria...

hygrozyme is also in my stable of chems.

i use h202 to solve any disease issues. i run hygrozyme (half strength) in my rez all the time.

use the search function and read up on both.

whatever you do : DONT OVER DO IT!

make SURE to clean your net pots, collars, hoses, pump, tubes, everything.

Thanks a lot! I didn't know they had more potent peroxide. That's cool. I use hygrozyme also. So you don't use it with the h202? If you don't mind, can you give me a quick rundown on how you do the clones from cut to transplant? Plus rep when I figure it out. Lol. Can't thank you enough bro.
 
yes... in my circle of hommies ...i am THE cloning master.

i am working on a complete step by step tutorial for this and another forum.

imo, it's not what you use to propagate (bubble, aero, rockwool, whatever)... it's all about the cutting method & healthy mother plants.

working clean and quick.

with clean : i mean sterile razors (i heat mine up on the stove burner), clean hands, and all that.

fucking squeaky clean...

also, with the h202, you don't have to change out the rez when you add it... it oxidizes over a fairly short time.

& be careful with that strong h202.

Can you type up that tutirol I really need help I been trying to clone for months aeroponicly and my stem just get mushy then brakes in half i assume its root rot IDK for sure plz help me trouble shot this im gonna try some h202 now thanks bro I sub'd to hear from you

I have this same exact problem someone plz help Im losing patients/$$$ because I cant clone HELP! + rep
 
I know gudkarma says temp is not a issue but you will have the least problems with rot and things if you keep a water temp of 75 degrees and a air temp of 70 degrees!

I totally agree though about h202 although I never use it but having rot you need a clean start and this is the only way!

Also what type of light? To much light can stress clones they need only small amounts of light.

Sounds like your system needs a good cleaning. Peroxicide works good. Alcohol works better. Dont run it in your system just clean everything with it even your scisors.
 
My clones like the warm temps but as soon as the roots hit the water I start seeing problems occur. I transfer clones from EZ cloner to my aeroponic boxes where I keep reservoir temps between 62-68*. I keep my reservoir in a seperate air conditioned room and use a 3/4hp flotec sump pump that delivers 3600gph through 1-1/4" pvc and also created a negative vacuum in the grow room so cold air is being sucked through the PVC and into the root zone. these clones are 3 weeks old. Anyone know what temps is too cold for the roots??

So my stem get root rot and I keep the temps from 79-82 F Is that to hot? I dont have a water temp for my aero they seem cold but I think it has to stay colder. Could that be the problem?
 
If your temperatures are 79-82 root rot is almost inevitable, and rot will be a very quick way to lose
your entire crop.

Things you can do to help lower reservoir temperatures:
-Lower room ambient temperaturer (assuming they're higher as the res shouldn't be that much different from ambient)
-Use a fan to run over your reservoir water
-Insulate your system and reservoir with reflectix or something similar
-Use frozen water bottles to set inside your res to lower temps (pain in the ass, but effective)
-Water chiller (easiest/most effective but costliest by far)


There are also addatives which can help you clean things up from rot as well:
-Hygrozyme will help break down waste in your reservoir for the plants to use easier
-h2o2 will help things whiten up and clean up as well, don't use too much. Also don't use
this if you're using beneficial organisms in your reservoir as it will kill them off. But chances
are there are no beneficial organisms if you're facing root rot.
 
How about a UV aquarium filter/sterilizer? bought 4 on ebay for 30$each, my temps are cool enough but it may help in someone elses that has temp issues.
 
I could see that helping to sterilize your reservoir, but if someone has temps that high they're going to rectify
the problem, and that is the temps.
 
Yeah it plugs in, theres a UV bulb inside and you need a pump to circulate the water, not sure how its going to work since I got my ressy temps down I probably wont have a problem in the first place.
 
Yeah, 62-68 should be more than fine, if anything you should take advantage of the lower temps to use beneficials in your reservoir.

I imagine the UV would kill those off as well, much like the h2o2 does.
