My wife is sleeping still and I can't find the camera, but there is really nothing to an aerogarden.....you have a pump, and it pumps the water through small plastic tubes upto your little grow cups that have foam-rubber (that's what your seeds are planted in). The water dribbles on to the foam continually while the little grow cups are suspended above the basin of water.... Same idea as bubbleponics overall but you pump water onto the plant / medium instead of air bubbles popping in water below it.
Hope this makes sense.

It does shut off but it's not off for real long, sorry I don't know the time schedule that the pump has. I would think it could be constant though if you were gonna build one. If I were to build one, I'd probably buy a good timer and set it for 15 min. on, 15 min. off, maybe. That would give the roots some time to get a little Xtra oxygen without drying out.

Check out this link. This is a better version of an Aerogarden. I cant remember if he used an air stone at the bottom or not, but if you are going to use it as dwc as well, i would certainly advise it.

With this setup you will actually be using aeroponic growing to start out with, and dwc later on.

i actually found misters for these in the drip watering section at home despot.i think they came out to about $0.40 each...
