Aerogarden

We purchased an aerogarden about a month ago. Initially we set it up for just growing herbs because the man of the house is a cook. After the dill refused to sprout for us we decided to test the waters. We planted about 4 seeds by taking the dill seeds out and replacing them with nice dark seeds from some good KB. After about 2 days we saw our first sprout. By day 3/4 the cup that is placed on top to create the green house affect was removed because the sprout was pushing the top. Day 4/5 it had already out grown all the other herbs that were planted a week to a week and a half earlier well except for the chives. It has a built in timer that works wonders and we believe it is set somewhere in the range of 16/8. So far two weeks in it is almost up to the grow bulbs and we are already seeing the 7 leaf forming and is about 6 inches tall. We have set the garden on the herb/basil setting; and have only had to supply it with the first and second bags of nutrients. We haven't placed a fan on it but we will be doing that shortly after reading some of the threads advices. Let us know if you have any questions and/or advice and we will make sure to keep everyone updated and pictures posted.

They got the air stones..pumps and hoses at Walmart in the fish section. May want to work your way over to the hydro place and get some liquid nutrients. I have heard pros and cons on them pellets that come with the AG. I been growing in the AG since about 4/1 and my plants are still tiny with 3 deceased. I used half of one of them AG pills might be problemo. Anyway I am now using Proline Grow Formula at the rate they recommend for seedlings which is 1.5 t. per gallon. The ones that made is so far looks nice n green they just midgets. Your leaf condition prob caused by nute burn produced by the AG pellets. Just guessing. Bet some dope head on here will know for sure:) I got mine set on tomaters and peppas. I am raising habaneros. They have the same growing parameters as killer weed. Thats why I hang out over here instead of the Southern Baptist section. They dont know how to raise hydroponic habs over there.

if your leaves are turning brown on the tips it could be burns from nutrients. i have an aerogarden and i started my plants with the starter nutes that came with my herbs pack. but after that i made the mistake of putting a half of one of those nute tabs, that was a mistake my plant didn't like it. now i dissolve a half tab in a liter of water and fill my reservoir when its needed. it working great that way so far.

looks like the aerogarden is a good investment. How tall do you think the plant can get before you have to start flowering because i know that these aerogardens are pretty small and the height of the lamp arms arent that long.

I would start to flower when they about 12" tall if i were going to do a grow from start to finish in the AG. I use mine just for vegging my mothers that i take clones from.
