Ok this was my first grow so i thought why not get my mistakes out of the way early. I brought an Areogarden 200 pro from a thrift store for $5 (they did not know what it was) spent another $15 on the seed pod kit (baskets, sponges, and nutrients) started my grow with four auto seed and two bag seeds.
1 Auto blue from Pyramid seeds
1 Quick poison from Zambeza seeds
2 Wild thailand ryder from World of seeds
2 Bag seeds (gave them away after a week or so)
After about a week i took one of the wild thai ryder and replanted it in soil (miracle grow), thinking that the areogarden tank would not be large enough for the roots, So i thought maybe i would use the areogarden to start the plants then replant them after they got a little size to them, however after a few days i noticed that the plant i put into the soil was not growing as fast as the one i left in the machine. Thanks to the member Old-School for taking the time to explaining the different root systems and how the shock will effect the growth (100% true) i am now looking at different options. i still like the idea of starting 6 or 7 plants in the areogarden but now know moving them to soil is not the way to go. any ideas ? i would love to hear them.
