Aerogarden to soil (what i have learned)

Ok this was my first grow so i thought why not get my mistakes out of the way early. I brought an Areogarden 200 pro from a thrift store for $5 (they did not know what it was) spent another $15 on the seed pod kit (baskets, sponges, and nutrients) started my grow with four auto seed and two bag seeds.
1 Auto blue from Pyramid seeds
1 Quick poison from Zambeza seeds
2 Wild thailand ryder from World of seeds
2 Bag seeds (gave them away after a week or so)
After about a week i took one of the wild thai ryder and replanted it in soil (miracle grow), thinking that the areogarden tank would not be large enough for the roots, So i thought maybe i would use the areogarden to start the plants then replant them after they got a little size to them, however after a few days i noticed that the plant i put into the soil was not growing as fast as the one i left in the machine. Thanks to the member Old-School for taking the time to explaining the different root systems and how the shock will effect the growth (100% true) i am now looking at different options. i still like the idea of starting 6 or 7 plants in the areogarden but now know moving them to soil is not the way to go. any ideas ? i would love to hear them.

Not sure what went wrong for you but yes my autos germinated within 24 hours put them in the sponge tap down not to deep and had it on 20/4 light cycle, at this point i did not add and extra lights just distilled water and half the recommended nutrients. The picture i took are 5 days after it germinated, i would suggest pulling out the basket to see if you have any roots growing (i am not a pro but this is what worked for me so far). Hey just spoke with a friend and he suggested to check your water temp, said he did the same thing and found out his water temp was so hot it burned the roots. hope this helps

OK will check temp thanks. I even took a 1/8 inch drill bit and ran down thru sponge to bottom like I read on here to give roots a path I'm growing herbs in ag 3 and took two weeks till they started growing too. I'm gonna take away extra lights for now and give it a little more time before I waste seeds $38.00 for 3 seeds ain't cheap thanks again tho I'll let you know if I have any luck

I've got 3 plants growing in aerogarden extra LED. My humidity in grow room was way too high. The result is fat leaves instead of nice things ones. I've since corrected humidity problem. But plants are thriving here is a pic from today day 22.IMG_20150629_135715544.jpgIMG_20150627_214916477.jpg 150629northern+lights.jpg

Thats great im glad you got them growing, and they are looking good. dont worry about the browning leaves at the bottom all of my plants did the same thing, when they gets a little more size to them just snap them off (their is some great info on here about thinning out fan leaves) Depending on your plants size, i had three in my areogarden but the roots got so big i had to transplant one of them lucky for me a friend had his areogarden just sitting around so i planted it there and also took some clones from my plants and added them to the second unit (my 1st time trying to clone)

Tried 3 different methods of cloning
1. put clone into cup with distilled water put on window seal.
2. put clone into soil placed plastic bag over it (kept inside of bag damp with mist)
3. put clone in (GARDEN SAFE) take root hormone then put into soil
after 5 days clones put in water did not make it, clones put it soil with out rooting hormone are starting to grow a little roots but look very weak, clones that i used rooting hormone on had a lot of small roots popping out of them. took those put into areo garden and they are doing well.
