AeroGarden Stealth Grow No Additional Lighting

Hi, I've ordered a few Low Girl Seeds Feminised
http://www.cannabis-seeds.co.uk/products/4459/low-girl.html

With the hope that it will grow small (20-40cm) and bushy like promised.

Straight Aerogarden setup in a wardrobe with no additional lighting (Pics will posted later). Just the AG on a separate 8 figure cord. With General Hydroponics nutrients; FloraGrow, FloraMicro & FloraBloom.

Hoping for an ounce maybe, wishful thinking.

Question is. Will it work? and has anyone used the Low Girl Strain in an AG before? What were the results?
First time grower/poor student so all advice is welcome.

Thanks.

P.S. This is a STEALTH GROW. Trying to keep things as discreet and low key as possible.

Well im sure it will work, as to how good it will work im not sure alot of things can effect that. I noticed that you said it would be in a wardrobe, the problem i see with that is ventalation, your plant is gunna need some air flow. And to grow a better pant with your AG make sure to use good nutrients have the light on long enough and like i said before make sure it gets ventalated.

Plenty air flow. just a little worried bout a little light getting in during flowering though. Any experiences with Low Girl? I wanna see the results of how "Low" it Grows. lol.
And if its the aerogarden light, should I keep it on for longer?
I'm getting some Easy Ryder too and I read somewhere that they are best on a 20/4 light schedule.

I have seen quite a few grows done with an aero garden and nothing else. I'm sure you will be fine, just dont over feed her and dont let the temp in there get too high, it may just be as simple as keeping the door open when the light is on. You will get buds, but with only the AG lights those buds will be fluffy and less dense than they would be if they were flowered under a stronger light. If you can afford it a 150w HPS (65.00) or a 125W CFL(55.00) will help the plant finish flowering with some class.

Bowser1467: If you bought the seven holes model with the tall; 24 inch arm/light stand, and the hood with three flat high intensity CFL's that should be all you need. I would stay away from the A/g nutes but there are a lot of good brands on the market. You might want to look into a 'poor man's CO2 generator' that uses: sugar, yeast and water. There are directions on You Tube so i won't waste your time here but it could help. I would suggest reflectors to focus the unused light back up to the lower portions of your plants to improve your yield, but I think expecting an ounce is a bit too much. How many plants are you intending to grow in your Areogarden? More than two is pretty difficult. Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress.

ok I knew it was wishful thinking, but its only for personal use. From what I've read on here, it seems wiser to just have 2 plants on it. any guesses to what i can expect gram-wise with Low Girl? I'm thinking for this as an alternative to dealers. Also, what dosage of nutrient should i put in relation to the number of plants. Low Girl and EasyRyder are meant to be 'easy' to grow but nute burn seems almost unavoidable with this thing.

And your feedback is much appreciated. Helpful people on these forums.

Bowser1467: You never did answer my question as to which model you purchased. Hopefully it's the seven holes model with the tall, 24 inch arm/light stand with three high intensity flat CFL'S. When using a seven holes model, two plants seems to be ideal, three is pushing it.
As to the strain you're growing, I haven't grown either of those. I've been growing from the seeds in a joint a friend gave me years ago. Every couple of years when I get low I keep a male going and I pollinate a couple of buds on the girls for future crops. I have no idea what strains mine are, but they're good. If yours are relatively small you should do well. There are also ways to artificially control their growth. Look into bending and weighing down the stems. I sounds crazy but it works.
As far as nutes are concerned, I would advise you to investigate Technflora's "Recipe for Success." It's complete, very user friendly and a starter kit with an Aerogarden will last you a long time. I just use it as per the instructions. I don't have to change a thing. Haven't had to. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Dude, get some russian rocket fuel, they grow only to about 10 inches and mine yielded over an ounce with only a few supplemental 23watt cfl's
My avatar pic is a nug from that grow

Really? how many plants was that?
Okay say i had an extra AG hood (for reasons that don't need to be disclosed) would lights from two hoods be sufficient? that would end up being about 120watts altogether right?

Bowser1467: Six holes and two lamps, I was afraid of that. There were a lot of those on the market last spring for $69 and I passed on it because of the two lamps. You need a lot of light to grow M/J, especially when you're growing with CFL's. You might give A/G a call, it's a toll free 800 number, and see if they have an up grade kit available for that model. As I recall, the arm/light stand is tall enough. It's taller than the standard seven holes model with two lamps and the short twelve inch arm/light stand, but with the two lamps I think you're going to need more light. They may already have a solution for you. Also, do me a favor and see how much the reservoir holds? The standard model has a capacity of 112 ounces according to my wife's measuring cup and the six holes model was marketed as a 'space saver.' It looked a lot smaller.

I don't have a link to Technaflora because I buy my supplies form Aerogarden or a local hydroponics store, but here's two suggestions that may help you. One, if you have a local hydroponics store, and where I live they're like gas stations, (there are a lot of them). I suggest you go there and start a business relationship with the staff. Some times you can get things a little cheaper on line but my relationship with the local stores has gained me a wealth of information I wouldn't have gotten ordering off my computer. My favorite store is a probably a twenty mile drive, one way, but the helpful hints I've gotten from the guys and gals who work there has certainly made the drive worth while. Just make sure you don't tell them you're growing weed or they'll turn a deaf ear.

If that's not doable then you have two other options. One, is to look up Discount Hydroponics, Riverside, California on the internet. Living as close as I do to them I've never bought from them on line but I understand that they do a lot of business in cyberspace and on the phone. Your other choice is to look up Technaflora Hydroponic Nutrients on the internet and see if they sell to individuals. Some companies who have a good wholesale operation won't. They'll have you go through a dealer.

What you're looking for is Technaflora's "Recipe for Success." It's a complete growing formula of fertilizers that comes with about ten components which you mix in the prescribed order and proportions for each stage of plant development. You want the 'sample kit.' It's about $30 in the store and if your local store doesn't have it I'm sure they can get it for you if they want your business. It comes packaged in a cardboard suitcase like box that held together for me for over a year. It's a great way to store your nutes. With an Aerogarden, your 'starter kit' will last a long time. Mine easily made it through a couple of crops and I had some things left over.

My guess is you don't have a pH tester and an adjustment kit. You can get them both in the same package. You'll get a little plastic testing flask, a bottle olf test solution, a color coded chart for comparison and a small bottle of pH up and a small bottle of pH down. This method is painfully slow but that's how most of us started. It's also the least expensive method but eventually you'll want an electronic tester. If you took Chemistry in high school or college, or you've had a hot tub or a swimming pool to care for you'll know how to use it. If you don't you'll have to learn pretty quick because you'll have to check and adjust pH every day.

Ok my bad, just checked now, its the standard 7 hole one (AeroGarden Classic Starter Kit) but the hood only has 2 bulbs, And the water capacity is 3.2 litres (0.7 Gallons) I also got an extra AG hood from a another AG. but its only got 1 bulb in it lol. what if i hooked it up so the plant was getting light from both of them? You gotta check and adjust pH daily? I thought you had to do it weekly!?

P.S. I'm UK btw, so its only the AG Classic that's available over here.
