AeroGarden root rot problem

Im having a problem with my AeroGarden bounty and root rot. I have modified my AeroGarden bounty with 2 big air stones, I installed two nipples on the side, have a homemade water chiller running set at 66 degrees with black water lines, using clay stones. I cover the top, around plant with black rubber glove piece.

So I know I don’t have any light leaks, water temp is fine, the rot root is happing from my pod, before root drops into water. I have notice that in between the lid and the water is hot and assuming this is the cause for the rot.

Any suggestions,

So to be clear, the water at the bottom is 66 degrees but the air above it is warm? what is the temp of the pot that holds the plant?
Go buy a laser thermometer, I bet that will help you solve your problem

Yes water is 66 degrees,
When I use laser pointing at the top mid part of basket, 76 degree which is 4 degrees hotter than room temp,

Should I run my pump non stop so the cold water is always flowing over basket?

cover the black with something white b/w poly is good. That might be enough, if it is not run your pump more often so that no root or any part of the basket is ever over 71 F.

Or.... still cover with something white and run a small fan at a slow speed drawing hot air out of the root area, which will pull some cooler air in
