I am beginning a cycle in my room, with an aeroflo60 with an extension. The Aeroflos will be under a constant 12/12 flower cycle under hids, ScrOG, and I will have a separate room using leds for veg only using a large EnF tray. I plan to use the coco cups inside the plastic net cups to give the roots a good opportunity to make a strong root ball in the cups during the veg cycle, because it can take the roots a week or two to pop through those cups.
I don't normally use the coco, I normally use a bare minimum of hydroton in the bottom of the cups and let the whole root mass be exposed in the aeroflo, so I am unsure what medium to put in the cups.
My current thought are to use all coco, all hydroton, or mix the coco with the hydroton, which works amazing in my other smaller EnF. A good trusted friend also recommended Sure to Grow, or STG, the loose fill. If anyone has any suggestions or experience using any of those, could you please tell me the drawbacks and advantages of each method, or if you have a better suggestion, please post it here, thank you.
