I built a 26''W x 26''D x 60" tall box that has a 3200 rpm exhaust fan with a carbon filter and a 4 plant bubbleponics system and im planning on having 3 105w cfl's that are 6900 lumens a piece for flowering and some lower watt blue bulbs for veging im planning on a sea of green and i was wanting some good advice if there is any flaws in my plan id like to hear it before i get started any constructive criticism would be apreciated and if anyone could give me an estimate on a yield id apreciate that too the total lumens is 20,700 in a 4.66 grow space is 4442 per square foot

No one can tell you the yield. There are way too many variables. I assume you are going with 4 plants for this SOG? Not sure how tall you will veg the main colas but a wildass guess of 4 SOG plants, using CFLs will prolly net you between 1/4-1 oz per plant, IF you are lucky and all goes well. So call it between 1-4 oz WET. Remember you can expect to lose as much as 75% of weight during drying.

What size is your fan and what CFM is is rated for? That's more important to know than RPMs. Also, what is your intake system? Passive intake? Or are you planning on installing an intake fan as well? What about fans on the actual plants? You need to keep air circulating around the plants.

What about the walls of the growbox? Are you lining with mylar or using flat white paint to reflect as much light as possible.

What about nutes? What will you be using?

1.Not sure what CFM the fan is got it second hand
2.Passive Intake
3.Small 10" ocilating in front of the box to bring A/C air tword the intake
4.No fan inside the box but my intake is pointed tword bottom of plants
5.Flat White Paint
6.Stealth Grow & Stealth Bloom Nutes (Recomended from Roseman)
7.Plan On vegging til' I prune the plants to create canopy rough estimate prolly 1-2 months

Can build box bigger if will bring bigger yield but if i make it bigger I need more light dont i?

and im working on getting a digi camera to post pics but thats goin to take a week or two

More and better lighting = bigger stronger buds. I don't think a bigger box will have an impact on yield in your case.

How much light would be too much though?

4 bulbs=5922 lumens per sq. ft.
5 bulbs=7403 per sq. ft.
6 bulbs=8884 per sq. ft.
7 bulbs=10364 per sq. ft.

the sun delivers 10000 lumens per sq foot itself so i figured around that but if using 420-735w of power would it be more eficient to get a hps or hid light

how many lumens does a 400w hid and hps give out?

i was looking at this site last night that had a hps/mh 250w that gives off 33,000 lumens and i was wondering if i put that into my space if it would make it too hot or if my plants would have room to grow up my room is 60'' tall

HPS/MH-$170
High Tech Garden Supply

thats the site i was looking at. the depth of it is 5.5'' and my bubbleponics system is 14'' so that leaves rouphly 40'' of space to grow with but i no they have to be so far away from the plant so i figured about 38-39" was the tallest my plants could get. i really no nothing about these lights but the number of lumens is 33,000 flowering compared to the 20,000 i would get flowering with the cfls and 65w less power used so it seems like a wise desicion to consider. if i have only 38'' of space to grow when would i have to put them into flowering around 12-13''? the system is cheaper for a veg bulb and a flowering bulb than the cfl system is for just the 27k bulbs and uses less power and from what i hear hps does wonders in comparison to cfl but i dont wanna get the sytem to find out that my space is too small and will get too hot i no the 400w will make it too hot cause it says to at least have 9 sq. ft.

any feedback is appreciated thanks to all you experts that help us newjacks

well there are ways to cool off the hps.and u could always raise the roof if u could.and ifu have money to spend u can get an hps hood with cooling fans and that would also help.but don't u have to rewire some stuff in ordor for hps to work

the only way i could raise the roof would be to make the box bigger and attach the hanging rod to the box and shorten the shelf right above it and put a bracket to hold the shelf from the box thats a lot of work and i dont think my wife would apreciate me taking her shelf space i already took away the whole hanging section of the closet. would a 250w doo good in this system without me changing the box and if i have to change the desighn how far away should the light be kept from the plants. and will 80cfm fan moving constantl 75 degrees air be all right if i stick with the desighns and the 250w
