Advanced Nutrients - ProMix HP and ppm ?

Greetings,

I am just finishing up an Early Miss Autoflower from CropKings BC.

Advanced Nutrient ph perfect Grow/Micro/Bloom/Big Bud/Sensizim/B-52.

I had been slowly sneaking up on max nutrients, NOT.

Blew right through and five hours after the fourth feeding in four days noticed my mistake !

A quick flush and 1/4 nutrients and Betty is chugging along...

If I had a PPM meter could I have avoided this mistake, barring any other issues ? And what reading should I be aiming for ?

Here she is at 96 days, 600w MH/HPS, temps 68-78 F, 2 gallon pot, light 20-24" from canopy.

Hard well water @ 7.2 ph. Mix nutrients, ph is ~ 6.8. Ph down to 6.4-6.5. 2 L's was watering to run off but now she takes it all every day with just enough run off to wet the saucer.

Cheers...

Update 11 Jan 2021

112 days.

TDS meter arrived today.

The store bought spring water I WAS using tested @ 135 ppm.

My well water @ 501 ppm !

I mixed up another batch that turned out to be too hot. 50% strength of an Advanced Nutrient schedule off their site.

Lets round it up to a 2L mix :)
Grow 60 drops.
Micro 120 drops.
Bloom 240 drops.

At this point its @ 1620 ppm.

Add 40 drops each of Big Bud/Sensizim/B-52.

PPM goes up to 1723.

So I added another 2L of ph'ed water to the mix, TDS dropped to 1120ppm.

Watered with that tonight :)

Turns out that is only slightly stronger than what I settled on. Judging by whatever lower leaves are left And the top sugar leaves of the buds I'd say we're okay.

If I am missing something, please let me know ! It is so easy to have blinders on and miss something obvious.

Here she is in all her glory two days ago, Betty..

In the image, the top middle section is the end of the main branch I pulled over. Cut off 2" to test and it's still over 9" long with a dozen separate buds.

On the right is a side view of the second branch to be pulled over.

Tons of great genetics out there that you can pull quality from. Just find a strain that you like and do some research on what reputable breeders sell that strain.

Hi,

I am using Advanced Nutrients also. I recently purchased a BlueLabs EC meter (see pic attached) so that I could monitor the EC & ppm's of the AN liquid nutrients. There are also many charts of EC / ppm for cannabis and most of them are very similar to the Royal Queen Seeds chart I have attached...........It shows the ideal range for ppm & EC

Here is what I am growing currently........

Strain: Girl Scout Cookies
Medium: Coco Coir
Nutrients: Advanced Nutrients (using at 75% of the recommended nutrient schedule)
Lights: Optic Slim 600H
Indoor grow tent 4ft x 4ft
Currently in week 6 of Flowering
Current EC.... 2.0-2.0
pH range 5.6-5.9

There are many EC charts for cannabis available and any of them that I have reviewed are similar or identical to the one I have attached from Royal Queen Seeds, which recommends EC levels of around 2.0 during flower.

To be honest, I have 4 more weeks of flowering before harvest and I will review the end result........but I am seriously considering moving away from Advanced Nutrients and going to an organic supersoil grow medium with an automated water system like Blumat.

I was also considering moving to MegaCrop (and would still like to try it) UNTIL I stopped following AN's advanced feeding schedule and began using their "beginners" :) ratio of 1/1/1.

Vigorous and healthy growth, not a blemish anywhere !

Crop Kings Black Indica Photoperiod, 3 gallon ProMix HP, day 43.

60 drops of each in 2L of ph 6.4 water, well water @ 500ppm plus nutrients is 1250ppm.

She did spend a week under a 85w CFL bulb while my previous crop was drying/hanging...

BTW > Early Miss Autoflower from Crop Kings yielded 369 g.

Your starting water is way to high in minerals. Tap/Well water nutrients are formulated to be used with water around 0.4 EC. Many hydro based nutes are intended for pure RO water. Some people mix RO and well water to get the 0.4 EC starting water and some add cal-mag to pure RO for the same effect.

Yeah, 13.2 oz from an autoflower using well water is a terrible yield :)

Is there a specific seed supplier that you can recommend?

I am an indica fan. My last few strains have been Northern Lights (True North Seeds), Blueberry & Girl Scout Cookies (CropKing Seeds).

I want to try a Granddaddy Purple and/or Purple Kush next...........................(was looking at Montreal Cannabis Seeds???)
Also my wife is interested in a pure CBD strain (High CBD & Very low THC) like ACDC strain

I have looked at the strains from Holland...... Barney's Farm ; Dutch Passion ; Amsterdam Genetics but none of them service Canada directly and any website that have these companies seeds are very expensive by the time you factor in currency exchange and shipping.

The Vault has quite a bit of strains that fit your needs. I’m from California and they shipped my seeds to me fairly fast so I can attest to good shipping out of country.

I know this is an old thread, but that's an awesome plant. I'm only a couple grows in I get NOTHING, NOTHING like that (I grow autos because I like variety, lower yields of 4-5 strains vs 1-2 photos). My biggest auto was a Purple Punch from Royal Queen, 3 ounces. Seeing these plants is motivation to learn. Thanks for posting. .
