Accuracy of cheap lux meters and phone apps?

I cannot attest to the actual accuracy in comparison to a high quality meter, but my Dr. Meter $25 LUX device is my favorite tool in the bag...
With all the LED strip build configurations I was fiddling around with, it proved to be indispensable.
When it reads 50,000 LUX is it really? Who knows, and I care not...It gives me a valuable reference, to the desired concentration of output, and that's all I really need...

I know that a lux meter should be calibrated for Led as well, I dont own one, but I am unsure how a regular one would be with LED, I found that at around 12" my QB's put out around 80,000-90,000 in spots so i dont think its too far off with the app, but honestly i have nothing to compare it with so i am not 100%. But it's a good reference for sure
