Acclimatizing strains outdoors

I have been growing for several years now indoor. And I've recently purchased a secluded piece of property and plan on doing a outdoor grow. I am not a breeder by any means. But I have pollinated a few of my favorite strains for seeds.. I have heard some pretty respected breeders talk about climatzing there favorite strains for Outdoor growing. But they never really elaborated on this subject.. From the little bit of information I've found on this I know it takes several seasons to do?? Does anyone know anything about this?? And if so I'm all ears

Well breeding for what grows best in a certain area is one of the oldest known hobbies of civilized man . With out throwing a bunch of science at you I will explain a simple way to go about it . So you sow seeds or transplant out doors you notice 3 plants seem to do a little better than the rest . you have one or so males that also seem to grow well . You breed the best plants and save there seed , Next year maybe 50 % percent will grow as good at the ones last year , You will breed only the best of these again . after a few years of selection you will have a strain the mainly produces traits that are conducive to growth in your area .

the key is to use high populations and open pollination to do it properly and even in doing this your strain may suffer from inbreeding deprssion and genetic drift pretty quickly if you cant manage at least 100 females per generation and at any rate after a few seasons itll probably be a totally different population much different than what you started with, this is a massive undertaking and itd be much easier to just buy beans off of an established outdoor breeder in your area but its not like unacclimated plants arent going to give you bud lol just not going to perform nearly as well.
