A way to dry shrooms.

you can fan dry for a day, then stick them in the oven with the door ajar aftewards for about an hour (it will not reach the temp on the dial, because the door is open), till they are nice and crisp, then seal them up well to prevent them drawing moisture from the air, sqeeze all the air out of the bags before sealing. Leaves em nice and white if ou harvest gently, and gives lots of bag appeal.
O.k. so put in oven on a baking sheet on the lowest setting with the door open half way for one hour after they have been fan dried for 24 hours. 10-4. Roger that!

O.k. how about I put them on a screen from a window and then put another screen on top of that so they dont blow off when they get dry and let a fan blow on them for a few days.
That's exactly what I do for the first day or two. I have an extra roll of the stuff. I just like it because it gets both sides well and I don't have to worry about the mushies ripping parts of it off because they're stuck. I also make a little pouch for my aborts as they tend to blow out easily. You'll also notice when fan drying that you'll need to weigh down the sides of the screen. At least I had to.
Then I make a dessicant chamber for the extra time in the end. My mushies looked better the second pick and after. The first harvest I handled them way too much and they were sooooo dark. Were still potent as hell, people just didn't like seeing such dark mushies.

yea I thought I had a good idea with the screen and yes i planned on weighing the sides down. I want to get away without having to use a dessicant chamber by just storing them in an air tight as I can get it bag after drying.

Good luck. They didn't dry enough for me with just the fan. On my second grow I put some in a bag for like two days later, got all the air out, and after the two days I noticed some condensation on the bag. Glad I was using them that day but for a long time that could just ruin them. Why don't you want to do a desicant chamber? They're easy to make, just get a fairly short (I used 5 inches tall) rubbermaid and put something to raise up a screen. Put damprid or similar on the screen, put another thing to raise another screen an inch above that (I was afraid of the mushies touching the damprid) and put the mushies on that. I use a 9" by 12" chamber. It was made for storing papers. Once they're cracker dry you can just put them pretty much anywhere. I did unsealed but rolled up ziplock bags in a mason jar with a little desicant at the bottom. Future I'll probably use a lunch bag. after the desicant chamber you probably can just put in ziplock bags with no air in them. I was just being cautious. I didn't want to ruin something that took me a month and a week to make.

What do you think of this?Shroomery - Cheap and Easy Drying Without Desiccant

It was something I saw in the past and didn't really care enough to try. I was just afraid of the possibility of too much heat degrading them. And I definitely did not want that after spending some time getting supplies and growing them. I was surprised at what ANC said but he's definitely someone I trust so I am definitely going to try that method. About the shirt, I just don't know man, I never tried it and was skeptical so I don't want to say whether or not to do it. I did think about it though, just decided no. It just didn't seem necessary as desicant was cheap and easy to get.

But if you do go through with it. Let us know how it works. I will probably never use it but someone else on here might.
I also just thought, they do get really sticky when they dry...maybe they'd rip off some particles from the shirt or be stuck more and harder to get off without ripping the mushies apart.....just something to think about

Ja, lol dude, when you grow bulk there is no alternative to the oven...
Yea and thats my main concern. I dont want to wast any time drying a large amount of shrooms. I will do a small trial with the clamp light method tho.

Just don't use any coloured or colour changeing gel, and it should be fine.

I put mine on wire rack with a SMALL heater fan about 3' away...I keep a thermometer next to the rack and keep an eye on the color so you don't dry them too fast...24-48 hours is good for my set up...unless the penis envy...those take longer( thicker)...then I vacuum seal them in 5 grams each

I got mine in a shoe box on top of some tissue papper with a fast food napkin on top them, and a fan blowing right directly at them.

Remember you want them realy dry, like they should snap clean off, PE is easily dried by splitting it in halves, you can literaly tear a shroom apart kinda like a banana...

i dry mine on a screen with a night heat lamp for reptiles. takes 24-48 hours and my mushies are cracker dry. i made a dry box thats well is only 75% done just have to cut and put the drawers together. got busy and haven't been producing much lately.

my temps are 85-95. the heat makes the air rise and pull moister from the mushrooms. i havent noticed any potency loss from fresh to dry. paper bag takes to long to dry i think.

Drying them with low heat is gonna do almost nothing to potency, been doing it for years....

If you are not going to use them fast, its absolutely critical to get them properly dry, or they will mold up....
For longer term storage, concider makeing some shroom honey (one of the oldest techniques for storage).

never tried shroom honey. i just store mine in a mason jar, with some damprid in a finger, i cut off of a latex glove and tape it near the top of the jar. seems to keep my mushies cracker dry.
