A Picture Paints A Thousand Words?

A picture paints a thousand words, so why is it so hard to shut an artist up talking about their art? ;-)
Here's a collage of mine about 50x30cm, and too many pieces of paper to mention. And absolutely no digital imagery involved! Just painstaking scalpel work...
Oh yeh, it's called "Fools Gold..."
What do you think?...:clap::clap::clap:..??

I see two peole, representing mankind(male/female) living in a broken world(the ground beneath their feet). He is either begging or performing pennance while she is being controlled by the power of an unseen(but not completely) being while listening to the happy, calming voice of the universe.

You may not be an art major, but certainly a captain or some other rank? ;-) A great interpretation. I guess if an art degree is needed to understand a work of art, then the artist has failed. Art for the people man!
So here's another..."Woman Crucified by Women..."

A commentary on how women are constantly urged to be thin, gorgeous, fake parts, plastic surgery, etc. And i believe it is your opinion that other women are responsible rather than the men that everyone always bitches about.

People are responsible, rather than men or women, but that's my opinion.
I got the idea for this from using "Cosmopolitan","Elle" magazines for collage. Seeing the amount of sexism contained in them, both against men and women, was quite an eye opener.

It is isn't it. i am talking to my son's teacher today b/c the kids play dodgeball at recess, but the girls always do the throwing and the guys always are the targets. AND no rules on headshots. Should be an interesting meeting.

I guess it is about women oppressing themselves, and only illustrates that part of the problem. But it is the part that hasn't occured to most people, try saying to a certain kind of woman that they're partly responsible! Haha!
Nice one budlover13, it's always good to get some feedback (better on here than the art forum i joined! :confused: )
Off to buy some crap hashish now:spew:, it's that or nothing, oh I sure wish my ladies would hurry with the flowers!!

Greener!

And good luck with the meet!!

Hey everyone! Thank you for the input...a lot! I'm on an art forum aswell, but it seems to me they could all do with a :bigjoint:bongsmilie:eyesmoke: and their view points (when I get them) are somewhat shallow, especially compared to here.
Going to post art work on rollitup from now on....

There we are, bloody google chrome won't let me play so reverted to explorer, which is more conducive. Anyway, here's today's new project; to do these sketches up to a decent standard. It's the last few lines to Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage" from the album-if-you-haven't-heard-do-so-now "Dark Side of the Moon"... Brain Damage.. (1).jpgBrain Damage.. (2).jpgBrain Damage..
