a new way to clone plants??

When i was a kid i learned you could stick some mud on a tree branch and it will grow roots, then you just cut it off and its already got roots... This is a easyer way to clone, but will it work with marijuana? i never tried before, i would but my plants arnt old enough yet.

HAs anyone ever done this before?
 
the only way i could see that working is if you covered a node with soil. It might then grow roots from where it would normally have grown a new sprout... only problem is they would be growing in the wrong direction... give'r a try and let us know.. personally i dont think it will work though
 
I just put mine in a cup of water or cup of soil without ANY cloning gel. got roots just fine. everyone says you need rooting hormone. MALARKY is what i say!!
 
yea it plant has everything it needs to establish roots or clone.


cloning agents are just boosters or something to help the rooting process
 
yeh do like you said sept cut the outer layer of the stem your trying to grow roots from, save the inner layer, and make a support using a toothpick. tie bag of soil around the cut

some as quick as 4 days. it varies though. the most recent clone i took was off a plant that was flowering for a week, soooooo if it roots its gunna be a while before does. thankfully Im patient and have nothing but time to wait. Im not in a rush to have it rooted and growing because i already have weed and I have 5 plants flowering.

but my point wasnt speed. it was the fact that you dont need to go out and buy cloning gel if you have what is called patience!!

or if you have a willow tree near buy you could make your own gel

yeah. i already knew about that recipe because i used to use it to clone my house plants (that arent marijuana. lol) but now where i live i dont know of any willow trees in the area soooo thats out of the question unless i go jack some branches off a tree at the nursery. lol. but it doesnt matter too much since after this grow Ill have the gel anyways b/c it came with my nute kit! *shrug*

I was thinking about taking cuttings off a wilow tree and starting to grow 1 inside:roll:
