A New Beginning!

Hello everyone,

It's been a very long time since I logged on to my account. A very long time. I'm surprised that my account is still in the database. Anyhow, I gave up growing for a while due to life circumstances however my wife decided that she wanted to learn how to go recently. No problem! time for a new set up! Before, I was growing in a spare room (about 8'X10') with HPS and MH lights. This time around due to a growing family I am far more limited in space, so this will be a small closet grow. I decided to build, come up with a modular design for a grow closet that can be scaled. Ideally every panel should be either 12" by desired hight or 24" by desired hight (in my case the hight is 72" or 6 ft). For my closet, I did not plan on expanding it so my dimensions are 30"x 48.5", this will allow me to maximize my available space and should be perfect for about 3 plants.

Each panel is built with 2"X 2" and 1/8" plywood glued and stapled. Each panel will be secured to the next with 4" bolts. There will be an air exhaust at the top and an air intake at the bottom. The reason I choose 2x2 and 1/8 plywood is so that it would be lite. I will be posting more photos and explanations as I continue to build. Currently waiting on mylar to finish walls off. Feel free to ask questions or suggestions!

Run with it bro! Get her hooked! Make it as fun and least stressful as possible for her and get her on board for your growing future. Women are sensitive creatures so if you are gonna get angry at the grow, do it by yourself! lol I learned this the hard way. If I am doing something in the grow thats hard work I try to do it when she is gone so if I get frustrated and start yelling at things, she isn't around to hear it.

Glad to have you back among us. Looks like you have a good start on your build.

I am so glad my girl loves to grow. I got her hooked on cultivation. She is pretty darn good for a beginner, her first two plants averaged a pound each, one just a hair under and the other just a hair over. Now she is so excited that I wish I had more space in the grow room to share.

Quick update, my Mylar just arrived and just did my first test with the Mylar and contact cement. It's working far better than I expected.

@Renfro The Miss gets angry at me because I don't do anything half ass. If I do something, I'm all in and I overbuilt things.

A friend gave me a white widow clone last summer, about 6 inches in hight. I had to work out of town that summer so I gave it to the wife and told her if she kept it alive she would be rewarded with a bountiful harvest in the future. She kept it a live, then I showed her how to clone, so now she does that and loves it. I think we have given awAy maybe 30 or so clones over the year, probably more. Now I guess I got to show her how to flower and harvest so she can finally enjoy her bounty. Lol

Well Mama is in her new home. The cabinet is done and assembled in it's new location, light and circulation fan installed. Next I need an inline fan and carbon filter, a humidity and temp controller with the accompanying heater and humidifier then done. I forgot the amount of time setting up can take.
