A little cake success, first time.

We all know cakes dont yield as much as spawning WBS or grain to bulk but as a beginner i thought i should get the easiest tek down first.

I messed up my SFGC by actually shooting it with my shotgun on the one side. So i taped up the extra holes to try and mend my retardedness :?


Cakes are all tasmanian.

just a lil' tip for your cakes...my first attempt at cakes went great...until it was time to birth the jars...then lo and behold...I had purchased "shouldered" jars...fuck!!!!...no wait...went out that day and snagged a bunch of h-shit and pasteurized it...then put jars and a plastic ziplock in the glove-box...open jars...wipe down spoon with 70% and started digging...put the scoops in the ziplock and crumbled it via manual massage(I rubbed the ziplock with my hands to break it up)...after the h-shit was cooled I dumped it all in a plastic tub and mixed it up with the spoon...cover the tub in tinfoil and punch some holes in it for GE and let it colonize at around 75...it was a great success for a first timer...found the info online in forums like this....hth
 
Looks good. I'm still waiting for my jars to fully colonize. I want to go with a casing method. The only other supplies I need are the tubs. And maybe corn meal and/or rye. I just don't want to get too uppity and do things to soon. Like you I'm a beginner at this. Eventhough I first read up on it over a dozen years ago. Better late than never. I got weed in my house, a new glass bong, and I can't even smoke yet bc I'm waiting for a new job to give me my third interview + drug test. The shrooms are the only sure thing for me. Compared to me right now, you are levels ahead. Good job homes. Later.
 
ive passed a drug test downing certo + a liter of OJ. Either i drank enough water that week to cleanse my body or it worked haha. Ill never know i guess!

I remember years back I got lucky like that once. I just don't want to press my luck this time.
 
Even if they called and told me they got someone else. I wouldn't mind. At least I have my current job. That wont test again. And I have my shrooms kinda growing. But most of all I could smoke again. Chill with some of my old friends. It's been just about six months. Shiiiiitttttt.

lmfao nah man i was being an idiot. IF you look at the last pic i drilled a hole every quarter inch or so like a dumbass.
 
i fan enough to prolly not even need to use the SGFC, what else is there to use for cakes? a mono tub with perlite on the bottom?
 
I know that I really can't give you any suggestions as to what to do with your current cakes. Since they are essentially in mid flush. But your future jars. Those you can try a casing method. I know that canndo had a recent thread about casing. But I don't know if it was deleted after the website problems. I just copied the text. You can google casing and you will find the casing for dummies webpage. But the canndo thread had the updatedcoir casing method + the theories behind it.
 
Yeah, i think RIU needs a mushroom section imo. Rolling all into this 1 forum seems a little lazy
 
As myself. Alot of green growers are finding pleasure in growing the shrooms. If I could, I would do em both at the same time. You know the ol' double bang, or bang bang if you like. I always enjoyed growing things. But RIU could use its own mushroom section. Especially since their are so many people interested, and there are alot of different types, and teks, etc...
 
Hey guys, some of those shroomies were breaking veils, so i let em go an extra couple hours to open the caps up a tad. Took a wet weight of 66 grams fresh. So roughly 6 grams dry. SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD DOSE TO ME, muahahaha
