When Cloning Scraping the (cambium) Which is what your referring to, is to promote expansive root growth from multiple root sites. This takes a week or 2 longer. The Easiest way to clone a plant is to cut the the shoot of growth at least 4 nodes down. When making cut make it at a 45 degree angle right next to(if you can) the lowest node which you cut of;roots will grow from this; dip in hormone place into moist medium rooting takes 1-2 weeks.I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you should scrape the bottom inch or so of the cutting to promote root growth.
Has anyone heard of this before?
You will start to see the tips of the leaves turn yellow, and the clone will start to form new nodes this about 2 weeks. Feed your clone a high nitrogen diet when it roots.I am coming up on 48 hours into my first foray into cloning. I took 2 cuttings from each plant just incase one didn't make it. Everything looks great, leaves are standing up.
How do I know things are alright? What are the signs that there could be trouble? Is there something I should be watching out for?
Thanks for the help!
So through the Bugs forum I figured out that I have thripes.
Does anyone know how this might affect my clones?
I started them in a home made aerocloner, the longest of the roots are about 2" right now.
So I guess you are saying keep them in the cloner for 2 full weeks then transfer to my DWC setup?
Is it normal for the clones to wilt when you transfer them from the aerocloner to the DWC buckets?
