I understand your frustration. The times I've tried to fight them they fabricated evidence and the judges are absolute assholes. Just lok at how many cases are on the docket. You might spend a couple years having to be in court every month until it comes to trial. I'm just trying to save you more grief and money. They wil make sure it drags on and on. Then one day you miss an appearance a warrant will be issued. Btdt

lol i know that one. one of the worst places ive seen that does that is denver. certain streets on the 2nd tuesday or any other arbitrary day of their choosing of the 3rd(or again any other arbitrary week) you can't park on the side of the street. supposedly for street sweeping that i never saw done. i got a few tickets from that. park outside a friends house for less than 5 minutes to take him to the airport and get ticketed.

She asked me to stop posting animated frog dicks, not exactly what I'd call 'oppressive tyranny'.

Then again, it takes so little for certain folks to become dreadfully butthurt, especially the kiddies...
Sunni has always treated me with respect and I her even though we disagree sometimes.

There is a double standard here.

There are ones that can name call and worse and get away with it while others get slowed or banned.

exactly. and here she deleted my post for name calling, which i did do. but then biglou does the exact same thing and that post stands. i call that an admin no doing what they are there for, and that's fine, it's her prerogative. it's just extremely hypocritical.

My dad was a paramedic and first responder for over 30 years. I've heard him say the same thing.

Fact is that its a law for money reasons not to save lives.

I think its comical that seat belt laws exist in states that allow people to ride motorcycles without helmets.
We have just recently changed our law to "everyone riding in a seat of a vehicle must wear seatbelts regardless of position and age" yet we can ride our street bikes during the day without helmets. We allow people to freely ride in the back of a pick-up truck as long as your over the age of 15 but if your a grown ass 40 year old man in the back seat of a prius, you need to buckle up lol

yeah, i do. i've ignored all of them, and they keep on posting trying to drag you down to their subterranean depth. occasionally i'll hit the "show ignored content" button and immediately regret doing so lol. i'm over it now, i just came to vent and get advice and got a indignant self-righteous moderator. lesson learned!

The difference being, I didn't insult you - you are a petulant brat. Your posts, especially in the political areas, read like the mad ramblings of a high school racist that is out of touch with reality.

So let me make sure I understand your purpose for the post. You are asking the community here how to get out of a seat belt violation because you feel like it infringes on your freedom to choose whether or not to wear it?

Let me ask you a few questions. Do you live in a city, township, village, or any other area that has appointed leaders to make decisions for their community? (Yes/No)

Did you move their on your own accord, or make the decision to stay there? (Yes/No)

Do you have the freedom to move to another area where they don't have seat belt laws? (Yes/No)

If you answered yes to any of those questions then the answer that you don't want to hear is buckle your seat belt or expect to get a ticket. Your appointed leaders passed laws, generally by request of the community. When you move into a city/village/township etc you by nature give up certain rights/freedoms to live there because you agree to live in that community where those laws have been put into place.

I have heard the argument so many times before that I am a paramedic, I've seen what seat belts do to people etc however I am confident in calling BULLSHIT. If your seat belt is adjusted properly, and latched properly, and used properly it increases your chance of living by 45-50%. Defensive driving increases that chance by an even better percentage.

In fact I challenge you to actually get some hard evidence that shows where a properly used seat belt was linked to an actual death. Then show a valid percentage of Deaths caused by a seat belts vs Deaths caused by not wearing seat belts.

If you don't want to wear your seat belt, and it's a law in your area then my recommendation is to take the bus. Your chances of getting out of that seat belt ticket without having to take some kind of driving course is about the same as dying from wearing your seat belt properly.

you can call bullshit all you like, you are looking at snopes while i have 2 decades of actual experience. the fact that you are confident about your internet fact finding ability says volumes. i said nothing about it infringing upon blah blah blah. thank you for hopping on your moral soapbox and coming in here like a boss and setting me straight. fear not, you've single handedly realigned my moral compass and now i feel so much better. i love a bloviating know-it-all. <ignore>

With 2 decades of actual experience you'd think you could provide some actual evidence where a properly used seat belt was a direct cause of death. I simply provided a link to a site that references multiple sources that is contradictory to the information you are providing in your argument. You however have only sited one source, your personal experience which to be honest has about as much merit as anything else that can be found on the internet.

You have stated that you have seen seat belts be-head people, and cut through people's torso's. While that is not out of the realm of possibility, lets be honest for someone to be beheaded by a seat belt it would have to be at their neck to begin with which is not the proper way to use a seat belt. For a human torso get cut in half, it wouldn't have mattered either way. The speed they would have had to travel in order for that to happen would have guaranteed death either way.

You came onto this forum whining and crying about your $160.00 seat belt ticket, and wanting to know how to get out of it. If your crying about $160.00 for something you know you did wrong, then do you really want to hear that the only way you'll likely get out of it is to hire a lawyer for a hell of a lot more than your ticket.? You have already proven that you can't handle a debate without resorting to name calling, and baseless personal attacks, what makes you think you can defend your own case without getting thrown in jail for contempt of court?

UMADBRO? They just came up with this new safe space thing, might want to research it.

I always wear my seat belt. I love the false sense of security it gives me at 143 mph on the freeway. #FastMustangsRock!!

Yes, fines suck. But you had a choice, and you chose. That's the reality of life, go against the prison state, and you bleed from the wallet. My need for speed has resulted in a lot of blood loss from mine. Your total didn't cover a third of just one ticket I got outside Lansing. But it's just money, and you'll make more.

Fight the ticket, there is always a chance the cop doesn't show up for court. Most traffic stuff in court doesn't get delayed- they want them off the docket- and going on and on forever. I'd say tell the judge you had your seat belt on and after pulling over, You unclicked it to reach your wallet. Let them prove otherwise.......

He could tell the judge his religion prevents him from engaging in deviant sex acts and it is his sincere religious belief that seat belts are a form of the devil trying to get him into bondage.

Or, as you pointed out he could fight it legally and win. I bet there are court rules for North Carolina that the cops won't follow. If he finds some and raises the issues, if the judge asks him how he was harmed by the cops not following the courts rules of procedure, he could claim his right to due process ahs been abridged etc.

i had a state trooper whip around in traffic to pull me over and give me a seatbelt ticket...and the fine is $25 with $130 in "fees." another example of generating revenue for the courts in the guise of 'doing things to help you." so i can buy and drink all the rotgut i want, which is exponentially more hazardous to my health that riding without a seatbelt...but that ok huh. why? because that rotgut is taxed, guess i just got taxed for not wearing a belt.

but fuck that shit, i didn't admit to not wearing a belt, and i had a friend in the car. i'm just going to go to court and fight this shit, and fuck a lawyer. anyone in nc have experience beating a seatbelt ticket?
Yep same thing happened to my girlfriend. I told her in Nc for 2 weeks put ur seat belt on. A few days later she came in with a 160.00 dollar ticket. Sucks!! Cause I paid it!!! Hate that happened to you man.

I've been given a seat belt violation in a private parking lot. Lit up in the lot and everything. Mine was $180 for not wearing a seat belt doing 5mph on private property. Court costs would have been $210 to defend it. Robbed in broad fucking daylight.
