i've been researching hempy buckets but i have a few questions.
Can the perilite/vermiculite be re-used?
wouldnt the roots get root rot from being in the standing water at the bottom of the bucket?
Besides perilite and vermiculite, what are some other options for growing media and how do i go about using it?
How long can these buckets go without watering? im not home 4 days a week. would adding coco coir help with this? would the coco go on the top or in the bottom?
Are the plants stable? soil packs down and holds the plants down, perilite is very loose. so, when the plants are 4-5ft and heavy with blossoms, couldnt the plant potentially fall over and come out of the growing medium?
Can soil nutes be used in a hempy bucket or would i need to get hydro fertz?
Whats the best size pot to use? 3 gallon? 5 gallon? smaller?
How well do these work outside?
Do you ever need to drain these? would adding a drain plug on the bottom be beneficial?
Thanks for any help. I dont really comprehend this stuff untill i get to actually trying it out myself, but seeds are expensive so i want to try to make sure i've got it all down before trying.
