A CURE-ious method

I know alot of users here are against oven and water cures, but I'm thinking of experimenting with some my up and coming harvest.

1) Water cure with bottled distilled water (not garbage tap). 1/2 gal for 1 hour, change water, repeat. (I'm unsure if a longer soak is required)

2) Place space buds on cooking sheet and place in oven at 125° for 10-15min (MAX)

3) Hang buds til dry, then jar cure for finish.

From what I understand about water curing, the water helps to release the chlorphyll and other unwanted plant parts. In the oven, I hope to jump start the moisture evaporation process. I live in a dry climate, so even if the buds are still moist, I'm not too concerned about bud rot.

Thoughts?

Try soaking in covered tupperware thats in a dark place. Soak for 7 days exactly.... Dehydrate in cheapest wally world dehydrator.... Then do canning jar thing...

water curing should only be done if your the one thats gonna smoke its.. It kills the bag appeal. You will lose 5-10% more weight as opposed to air dry.. But you can roll a more potent joint out of the same weed..

Think about water curing part of your harvest in case you don't like the results.
It would be a shame to screw up the whole enchilada.

Yeah, its just for me; so no worries on final weight. I like the sound of potent j's. This might just be for me.

I'm only doing some; the rest will be hung in normal fashion.

The only thing i've screwed up thus far is adding too much Gravity. Minor leaf burnage. That stuff just doesn't work in DWC.

Thanks for the input, guys.

Yeah that gravity is some potent stuff especially in dwc... I was gonna use some this time around but i burned my plants so i cant use it... Did you see anything good out of the gravity or did it just burn em?

The water cure is supposed to be done over a 7 day period. Changing the water everyday.....each day you'll see more nastiness coming out. Most of the yucky shit is water soluable where thc isn't. The dehydrator is a great investment......banana chips!!!

Just do a thread search for water cure and you'll find some usefull info!!
I'ma do a water cure on part of my harvest when it happens! will be interested in the progress!!

:peace:

subsricbed, would love to see progress and results
what strain u growing?

I really wish I knew the strains. One batch is from a mixed discount pack i bought online, the other was an outdoor strain (BIG beans) which i believe is northern lights, or something close to it (it's leafy). There is very little odor with what I have which is surprising, but a big plus.
It wasn't until recently that i heard the phase "Bunk seed = bunk weed" but I'm content with what i have. I would like to get something potent like Purple Kush or Trainwreck in the future.

I ran it for 5 days, but changed the water yesterday because the burning was getting worse. But, I am noticing swelling and more resin, and that was just a few days! I didn't use any more than 1 teaspoon (sample amount from a friend) but I might actually buy some next time and use just a few drops. When they say less is more, they mean it!
