A couple sterile rez questions

These are questions for a friend. I run a living rez with bennies. A friend of mine out in Vegas decided to start growing after taking a break for several years. We were talking on the phone, and he had a couple questions that I didn't really have answers for.

1) HTH. I found a couple threads this morning on using it, but most people dilute it in water, then add it to the reservoir that way. One of the RIU regs mentioned that you can weigh it out to .10 grams for every ten gallons to get 1ppm of chlorine. Is this okay to do? It seems simpler than making a pre-mixed solution. Why do so many people make the pre-mix as opposed to just weighing it up on a small digi?

2) Kelp. I use it for small cuttings and transplanting. Is it useful at all in a sterile setup? Can plants make use of the hormones, enzymes, nutes in a sterile rez?

Thanks.

Shit, almost forgot - Anybody ever run Veg & Bloom Tap?

Have him use GH 3 part and RO water at first. Hell have a better chance at succeeding if he follows the GrowWeedEasy website chart for recirculating setups.
He should connect multiple buckets together for an Rdwc and use a chiller. These things ALL will ensure he gets to harvest.

It's as if you're answering a different thread. Did you even read my post? Cause all you did was provide a bunch of answers to questions I didn't ask.

i measured out for each dosing. 0.30 grams per 10 gals was what i used.

and i started using kelp and fumic/humics when i went away from a sterile res.

Ya... You asked about veg bloom tap. I said just use gh if ita his first DWC ever. And also in that case, connecting several sites together with a res and recirculating, greatly increased water volume and an overall better stable ph.

Just some advice for him is a.

^ That's from the OP. He's not a noob. We were on the phone having a super random discussion about the use of organics in a sterile rez. And where TF are you getting DWC from? I never even mentioned hydro style.

And for the record, he's running GH 3 part in ebb and flow buckets because that's what he did for years before making the move to Vegas. He's so "not a rookie" that he purchased 3 separate lighting setups - a 1k HPS for winter, A 600 HPS for spring and fall, and 400 watts of Citzens for summer.

Thank you.

How were you results using HTH? Would you recommend something over HTH in a sterile?

He was using DM Zone before, but said he was getting inconsistent results with it.

i started off many years ago wiht Zone but then i couldn't find it anymore. something about Fuji took over dutchmaster.

my results were perfect, ultra brite roots. i think measuring it out steers some people away b/c you do need a scale good to 0.01g

a stock solution gets weaker every time you open the cap.

Thank you again. I find you to be one of the solid sources for info on this forum.

BTW - when you mentioned roots and the scale, you were referencing HTH and not DMZ, right?
