hello Mainegreen1986 here. i just have a question. i started a plant about 2 1/2 weeks ago that a friend gave me as a seed...he told me that it would be a female. and that it is the same as the other plants that he is growing. and they are all female. he just couldnt remember the strain and how long it would take to start flowering.
i am growing it in my house and use a fluorescent light. about 3 days after i germinated it..it had a tail..i put it in soil and about 3 days later it came up thru the dirt. and now it is about six inches tall and starting to smell a little bit...i am just wondering if anyone could tell me what strain it possibly is..by this info. he got the seeds from his med MJ dispensary. so my question is...could this be a 90 day auto flowering plant or is it a male cuz i have been told males grow faster than females. just curious...if anyone reads this pls mail me @ jkettle(dot)1986@live(dot)com i can post pics if needed.

See above.

Based on the information given, your best bet at sourcing the strain is by asking your friend about the origin of the seed. If he doesn't know, neither will you.

Generally, Indicas are shorter and bushier than Sativas, which are usually taller and lanky. There are plenty of exceptions to that rule, and growing conditions also contribute to the structure of the plant. If you want to know what you're smoking, make sure you know the source of the seed next time you start a grow.

If it's a male, you'll find out when you change to 12/12. If it's an autoflower, you'll find out when it starts to show signs of sex in a couple weeks without changing the light cycle.

If it's a single seed from a bag of bud the odds of her being female are about 99.99%. Seeds from unpollinated females are always girls.
