yes but again spot ppfd is irrelevant. all these cheap mfrs just concentrate their diodes into a beam to get a number. coverage on that fixture is awful its not even evenly illuminating a 2x2

Go strips mate, I have done both. Also, the strips aren't a massive fire hazard like a COB.

no and no, though with cobs the emitters are more concentrated so thermal management is more of a consideration

What about cost per system? For the Same wattage i have not priced a cob setup as im such an led noob i wouldnt k ow my head from my ass when it vomes to which cobs are good enough to make a decent investment in

Does the 418 “true watt” number mean the light is literally equivalent to a 418 watt HID? Or somewhere in between the 418 and 900? Or should I pay more attention to the Par value and lumens?
Welcome to the world of LEDs, where advertised wattages are a lie to sucker people in that are inexperienced with LED lighting. These are standard LED practices.

Because i want to grow a plant larger than 3 feet? How do you grow sativas or tall OGs with that? Only top buds get density the rest is popcorn? those look like side lighting to me.

My colas are just under eye level, I can bite them.
What about under that, straight popcorn/larf? to me the light levels look really weak, there's dark areas everywhere in your picture and the intensity looks wack.

That is the best my shitty entry level phone camera can do.
I totally lollypoped everything off the bottom. All the flowers are getting sufficient light.
Although I did manage to get the branches to sag when I messed with its support earlier.
I will fix it up tomorrow. once I had a chance to pick up some chicken wire.

I would grow in the way demonstarted with the COB picture, those plants are maybe 3' tall at the tips, all one solid even canopy.

The current grow was a bit of an abomination as I went on my own with my grow. It went from over 130 clones to me keeping 2 plants and getting my own lights to start from scratch but with my own equipment.

See that wouldn't work for the majority of legal growers that have plants that are large, your whole grow might yield like one plant to a good legal grower with 8-10 foot ceilings.

Sure, it wasn't a big room, we only ran 3kW and got acceptable yields.
It all depends on what you grow. This is a very short running strain that gets harvested about on day 52 for best effect, not yields. My electricity and nutrient costs are so low I'd be ahead if I got an ounce.
