~90 Temps - Nothing I can do

I have a small cab with a 150w HPS in it and have tried many setups with different intake and exhaust CFMs and even CFLs but it's really hard to keep it under 85. The reason is because I live in an appartment where the landlord sets the temperature. This makes my room 80 degrees to begin with, so there is nothing I can do. My question is, what results will I see at 90 degrees. Will they just be smaller? Take longer to grow? Do I just need to make sure that they're well watered?

I know sativas came from the middle east so they should be fine with 90+ temps, not to mention AZ, Texas, and even bigger, Mexico, has outdoor marijuana busts all the time.

I've had a grow that had hot temps that sometimes came close to 97 - 98 degrees. My shite still grew but I didnt have close to the results that I do now.

I grew once in high 80s with a nice yield, still had some big, tight buds, some of the calyxes stretched out and the flavor wasnt there but it was some shitty bag seed so might not of had much to begin with. Overall you will grow some decent weed, definitely better to grow in a hot environment than to not grow at all, first lesson i learned.

the landlord sets the temp? That's messed up, you are in an apartment or do you just rent a room?
It's an apartment. The whole place is set with gas lines without a single thermostat in the whole building - I believe.

Thanks for all the responses. A book on marijuana confirmed it will grow up to 100 degrees.

Ive got a setup in the cupboard under the stairs in my place. Temp stays between 85-90F humidity between 60-80% and my plants love it! As long as temps don't exceed 95F, you shouldn't have a problem.

Oh shit, I just thought of something. Why don't you empty out your refrigerator and set it on the lowest setting and try growing in there?
But then your left with nowhere to keep your food cold.....Never mind, that's probably not as helpful as it sounded in my head...

I'm intrigued by this co2 stuff. Is it seriously as simple as taking a paint ball can and throwing a regulator on it?

I am also having heat issue's but I am using A room for my veg and it get's 90 F in the spring time in there. I ran up to lowes and picked up A portable AC for the higher temp's! CO2 does also help with high temp's but I need my room to stay in the 72-82 f range!

Mobone- what type of system are u using? Soil or Hydro? If you are using soil the high temp's are ok....

Yea I'm running soil. Those portable AC units are so expensive!! How much does it cost to refill a 20lb co2 can??

I pay 16.00 out the door for my 20#! But look around at diffrent welding supplyer's because price does vary. Co2 can be good or bad, U need to watch ur dossage to the room! I am doing 4 soil mothers and 5 DWC mother's and the DWC water need's to stay low. As for the AC yes they are pricey I payed 399.99 for mine that is rated for A 300 sq ft room!

i have same temps and prolly same light. temps were actually even higher, up to 110ish until i found a little trick that worked for me. i have the sunsystem 150 and i grabbed a small fan i was using that wasnt doing much and i put it on top of the light blowing into the light fixture thru the vents, and doing this helped the light run cooler, the housing no longer got that hot to the touch, and it dropped the temps 10-15 degrees.

[There are a few things you can do that do work. You can get multiple fans blowing on your ballast and in your grow room. You can manually open windows since its the winter time, get a air cooled reflector, buy a air condioner, get a window ac unit (costs about 100-150 at the pawn shops..also can check out portable air condioners their too). These are just a few ideas. GL!
