8x8 flower room

I'm building 2 8x8 flower room and having a hell of a time setting up the lights.


Here is where I am tore. keep in mind we are using a 6x6 scrog in the 8x8 box.

How many 1000w lights would you use?
How many 600w lights would you use?

Give some info why you would use one vs the other.

I was thinking either 2 1000w lights or 4 600w lights

4 600s will use more amps and more watts.

2 1000s use less amps and watts but run hotter.

But 4 600s will cover better then 2 1000s...

I currently use 2 1000 Watt HPS in an 8x5 room but I find that there are areas that still seem to have shadows so I have added a few cheap LEDs. If I were to do it over and HPS was my only option I would go with the 4 600 Watt lamps. If I didn't need to go with HPS I would look into CMH lights. Coverage is the main reason for the smaller lights.

I am currently thinking of taking one of my HPS down and replaceing it with a CMH and a top of the line LED and figureing out what type I like best. I will probably end up with more LEDs as time goes on because I do flip breakers every once in awhile, it totally sucks to look at your garden that should have been bathing in light for a few hours and see it dark. So you may want to think about that if you have an older house.

Are you using them now? it sounds like the 315 CMH is equal to a 600 HPS, I would love to know what you are pulling per lamp.

Yea been using them for a year or so. Been doing 1.25-1.5 per light with my high yielders. 1-1.25 from my lower yielders.

How is the heat on a CHM vs hps ?
